Impeach Cheney Banner to Fly Over All Star Game? UPDATE!!!
Edited on Mon Jul-09-07 05:53 PM by helderheid
How would you like to see an Impeach Cheney banner fly over tomorrow’s All Star game? How would you like to see it fly knowing you helped make it happen? The media is just now beginning to acknowledge the impeachment movement. We need to take every opportunity we have to make our beliefs known. We can’t allow them to keep looking the other way. The American people are not apathetic.

We can do this if we raise the $ today. The pilot is ready to fly. If we all chip in a bit of $ here, it will happen. This idea originated in the Nationwide Movement to Impeach Cheney and Bush facebook group.

Keep your eye out at tomorrow's All Star game in San Francisco. In
just a matter of a few hours, 108% of the needed $695 was raised on-
line to pay a pilot to fly an IMPEACH CHENEY banner over the stadium.
The impeachment movement has been ignored by the mainstream media for
too long. Finally, they have begun to acknowledge it in just a
precursory way. We need to start driving it home and this kind of
visibility will not only bring a smile to those who have had it with
this administration, but let the powers to be know we're not going
anywhere and that the American people are NOT apathetic. Hopefully, we
can help support more of these actions throughout the summer. The
average donation was only $15. Not much to pay for such a great
statement. Of course, if we suddenly here of a terrorist threat
causing a no-fly zone or if there is a media brown-out we'll know it's
just another attempt at squashing dissent.

1. I donated when I saw it earlier today.
Even if the plane is unable to approach the stadium, I consider it money well spent.

Maybe this is a reason they have been flying F16s all over the Bay this week.

I am damned tired of the noise.

3. Problem: Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) are in effect
over all athletic events while games are going on. If they fly a banner over the stadium they will have to be at least 3,000 above it, which will make the banner pretty hard to read. Any pilot who is asked about this job will know about the TFR, but the impact of a banner at 3,000' might not be too spectacular, unfortunately.

6. The people at the park might see it, but the TV network won't show it.
Most of the folks in SF are already believers. Those who need to see it, won't.
