need to be turned down a few cc's? I know this is mean, but, is there some medical reason she talks like a drunken pre-school teacher? If so, I apologize to anyone who suffers from her condition.

If not, hasn't anyone ever asked her to talk normal?

She's not a neocon. She's mostly not down with their agenda. She has not been one of the ones "most responsible." Besides, you're not going to get what you want if you won't accept their votes and help.

25. I hope you're right.
I had the same feeling months back watching the Senate Foreign Relations Committee grilling Sec. of State Rice. It appeared that we'd reached a tipping point with respect to Bush losing support for the war. Sadly, this was followed up with a bunch of aimless nose-picking. Hopefully things will be different this time.

Democrats don't look "soft on defense" and some Congressional republicsns in 2008 races get to distance themselves from the criminals in the White House. Maybe we'll get an end to the war and not get blamed for caving.

Edited on Mon Jul-09-07 07:22 PM by Mass
They will not vote for a binding date, as stated by Lugar, Warner, Domenici, ... (with the possible exception of Hagel).

If Snowe calls for a binding date (rather than a vague "we hope that", that is fine for her. If not, this is just another way to wait and see.

BTW, Feingold-Reid has a binding date. If Snowe proposes her own resolution, it is probably because she opposes a binding date.

Even though apparently it's Collins that's up for re-election in Maine next year and not Snowe, the Senator may be nervous about going down with Dubya nonetheless.

39. There's a Political Motivation in Everything OUR Guys Do, Too.
They might be Democrats, but they're still politicians. Not a one of them makes a move without checking with their advisers as to whether it's politically expedient.

The bottom line is, if we want to end the war (and we do), we need them. I'd like to think the American public is JUST smart enough to remember what party got us INTO the war in the first place.

They won't get credit. They will be saddled with votes, like the vote to sustain chimpy's veto, that prolonged the war. And if we stop shooting at each other long enough to remember who we should be going after, the public will get the message.

by the party and cannot survive without it. Period. The party exacts total control, and will kill their own at the first dissenting vote.

Plus, we need a real majority to take away Lieberman's upper hand.

The way the GOP operates, there are no friendly R's.
