Do you think the media is warming up to the idea of defunding the war?
All I heard on Super Tuesday was "when are the Democrats gonna show some backbone and defund the war?" Initially, I thought if the Dems did it, the media would attack, but now I'm not so sure.

1. The "media" is nothing more than a market. They sell or try to sell whatever will attract viewers.

4. Not mutually exclusive projects. Of course they will try to make
the Democrats own the quagmire and the "defeat" -- which is no defeat at all but a business venture concluded.

6. I see our withdrawal the same way--not as victory or defeat, but simply as: time to go.
But the RW only speaks in terms of victory and defeat, because they believe most Americans can't accept the thought of a loss, and thus continue to dangle the hope of avoiding it to keep the occupation going. Wish we had an effective "spin machine" working for us to counter that, but we don't--we still use the RW framing.

7. I know. This was never about win or lose, it was about cronyism
sold as a glorious cause in the media. What utter cR@p!

3. I think Wall Street has bailed. They no longer see it as a profitable
venture, judging from Sunday's NYTs editorial. So, I would say, you bet.

5. I can easly see the corp media pinning the war on Bush.
That way they can more easily deflect the war AWAY from the repugs. Which will help allow them to regain their efforts to retake the presiency (and the congress) in 2012.

So yeah. It looks like the corps, concervatives, and (I think) the repugs have just decided to throw bush under the bus to save their own hides. He just doesn't know it yet.
