A disgusting "poem" posted in the Veterans forum, and my rebuttal.

Here is the poem as it was posted by Joey Liberal:

How many of you Liberals does it take to win a war?
Well how the hell can we tell? You won't fight one anymore.
You say that you support the troops, but the truth's plain as your face,
You'd pull us from the battle, march us home in full disgrace.
You've no stomach for the fighting, got no mettle, got no pluck;
If you ran this war on terror, we'd be a very well plucked duck.
The wolves of Jihad smell your dread, can smell your craven breath,
And emboldened by the fear they scent, lust for our bloody death.
"But wait," you protest piously, "We are fighters for the poor."
Might we suggest you start to fight, before wolves come through the
door?
Do you think they'll still believe in you, your poor, your gays, your
blacks,
When the wolves run wild among them, sinking fangs into their backs?
Think then that they'll be caring, when they're counting out their dead,
We inflict pain on a captive wolf to learn what's in his head?
Do you really think, you bleeding hearts, when they bleed in scarlet
torrents,
They'll care we cage the savage wolves, search lairs without signed
warrants?
For years we watched your "feel good" courts defang our criminal laws,
Handcuff our police, give felons rights, espouse the criminals' cause.
Felonious wolves were freed to prey, and we suffered their wild rages
Till "thinking" men took back the courts, put the wolf packs back in
cages.
With your same old clueless "feelings" you now decry this war;
And with your same old fuzzy logic, common sense you still ignore.
We must look into "root causes" and we must try to "feel their pain;"
Pardon if our eyes start rolling, at your same old lame refrain.
It's hard to fathom whence you come, perhaps some flawed eugenics,
That begets utopian pessimists, sires optimistic cynics.
Thanks be the power to rule the land remains beyond your means;
A regime of yours, would be like, no doubt, being ruled by pimpled
teens.
Your quixotic quest for a world love nest, denies some truths quite
real,
Like the need to have some "thinking" folks to preserve your right to
"feel."
Abhorring blood on your own hands, there's a hard truth you've ignored,
Someone else must take your plowshare, and beat it back into a sword.
So how many of you Liberals does it take to win a war?
Or is there simply nothing you believe worth fighting for?
How is it that you've never learned, like most when they grow older,
That appeasing badness is a bad idea, only makes the bad guys bolder.
Has your fear of spilling human blood made you Jihad's useful fools,
Ignoring that their wolf packs never fight within the rules?
By your demand we stay our hand, you weaken and you bind us;
Forcing us to fight off wolf attacks with that hand tied behind us.
So we bend some rules, in war you fools; so what? Show some respect,
When it's your fuzzy-headed "feelings", "thinking" men fight to protect.

Chickenhawks you be, snug in your towers, free from toil.
While the very troops you claim to support die for lies and oil.
You proudly shout out that it’s “family values” for which you stand.
While scandal after scandal scars your party and this land.
How can they still believe in you, the poor, the gays, the blacks?
Little solace for Katrina’s refugees, and the gays basic civil freedoms lack.
What neocon has helped them, those who cannot be united in love, those hurricane misplaced?
Those power-mad wolves in Washington, smirking malice and narcissism on their face.
Call us bleeding hearts if you must, but we are the majority.
But should one day should you find yourself labeled a “savage wolf” rather than me:
Please know that we’ll still beseech the courts to grant due process of law,
Expose every injustice and correct every miscarriage and flaw.
Many people rot in prison though innocent be they.
Since “thinking men” were in error, proven so by DNA.
With society fraying here at home you cheer a fraudulent war
And tune in every day to mainstream media and its corporate whores.

In 2000 a bought Supreme Court took democracy from our hands.
The ensuing regime has brought endless war and terror, what's so hard to understand?
Our every request for accountability falling upon deaf ears,
Eroding civil liberties and creeping fascism stoke the fire of our fear.
All the while the blood of nearly a million Iraqi civilians goes ignored;
So long as the oil is flowing and the SUVs roll on undeterred.
So, how many neocons does it take to ruin a nation?
With economic policies destined to spur hyperinflation?
How is it you’ve never learned that history tends to repeat,
And that soon no American will be safe from democracy’s defeat?
Has your lust for blood and oil set the world on the edge of a dime
committing our sons and daughters to a war against a concept with no boundaries of time?
By your manipulation our voices unheard, our mainstream media utters not a word
While true American heroes are besmirched or jokingly labeled as “disturbed”.
You bend the rules to justify your ends while the meek among us suffer
With complete disregard to our Constitution which will soon be ripped asunder.

"CW5" means a Chief -- as in "Chief Warrant Officer". That commands respect within the military (enlisted and officers alike), but most phony military won't pick up on it.

Make sure to double-check for the unit designation. There is a standardized format. I don't think "Russ Vaughn" got it right, either, but I was never in the military -- I was an Army brat.

Just don't use the SEALs. They'll rip your balls off. So will the paratroopers if they ever catch up to "Russ Vaughn".

The unit was originally formed in 1917 as the 327th Infantry Regiment. It remained active until 1945.

In 1948, the unit was reactivated as the 516th Airborne Infantry Regiment. This was a training unit and was not on jump status.

In 1956, it was reorganized as the 327th Airborne Infantry Regiment.

In 1957, it was redesignated the 1st Airborne Battle Group.

In 1964, it was redesignated the 327th Infantry Regiment. It has remained an Infantry Regiment, with no expansion, to this day.

Note 1: the 327th was never a Parachute Infantry Regiment. It was ALWAYS an Airborne Infantry Regiment or an Infantry Regiment. The 82nd has two Parachute Infantry Regiments and one Airborne Infantry Regiment. I have NO idea what the difference is, but no self-respecting paratrooper will ever mix them up.

Note 2: the 327th went to Vietnam as an Infantry Regiment.

Since this asshat supposedly was in the 327th AFTER they dropped the "Airborne" from their True Unit Designator, and he would obviously know the name of the unit if he was in it, this moran was never in the 327th.

My bet is he was a Laundry and Bath specialist in Saigon, if he went to the war at all.
