On Impeachment vs. Ending the War and Being Elected to Chew Gum and Walk
Thursday 7-12 on the Ed Shouts show, Sherrod Brown opined that an effort towards impeachment would "suck all the energy out of ending the war and make it all about partisan politics.............."

Sez who?

Yes, we've heard this many times before and it's still a false choice. Maybe Congress members value their need to FOCUS on "ending the war," but please don't pretend, don't repeat the easy-out meme that impeachment would "make it partisan" and "all about personal politics."

Impeachment is about criminal violations against the Constitution, the nation and the people of the United States of America. Some Congress members are stuck like deer in headlights, dazed by the possibility that megamedia pundoids will skew public PERCEPTION of legitimate Congressional action and make it APPEAR (to the gullible and dittoheads) that this is about "hating Bush/Cheney," rather than about LOVING THIS COUNTRY AND UPHOLDING THEIR SWORN DUTY TO THE CONSTITUTION.

The petty pretense is derived from the phony impeachment of President Clinton, which WAS "partisan" and "all about personal politics." That bogus farce led to current attempts to EQUATE IMPEACHMENT with that PARTICULAR misuse of Constitutional tools. Reprehensible Republican partisanship lowered the bar. The Founders did not intend for it to stay there.

Many of the current impeachable offenses are ALL ABOUT THE WAR. The conceit expressed by some Congressional Democrats that impeachment and ending the war are separate and mutually exclusive subjects is not convincing to the majority of the American people who have already connected the dots. If Congress is more interested in what media spinners say about them than what constituents are saying to them, the clamor of those dots being banged together will keep getting louder and louder and louder...............

1. "Welcome back from the grave"
One trouble is that WE need to make the case for impeachment and make it so strong and say it so loud that elected Republicans are either shamed into voting for impeachment (which is probably impossible with this crowd) or so that Republican grass roots people are also outraged about the attack on their/our Constitution.

Neither the war, nor Plame are gonna sell in Peoria (meaning middle America or mainstream America. It probably will sell in blue Peoria). Republican masses do not mind the lies about the war because they still believe them, or still believe taking out Saddam was important/noble/unavoidable.

We need a bipartisan case. One that makes even Republican voters, at least alot of them, say :wtf:

2. "Impeachment is the chainsaw that will clear the path to progress."
"Our Constitution is the foundation and cornerstone of our Democracy and it has been trampled on and shredded under the misadministration of George W Bush and Richard B Cheney.

They lied not only to us, the American People, but the whole world in general about their reasons to go to war in Iraq. They created false intelligence to fit their agenda of perpetual war. This perpetual war is only a cover for their true motivation: The subversion Democracy and the takeover of our Government to install a Unitary Executive, a Dictator.

"We need to focus on other things, like ending the war"
It amazes me how many people just don't 'get it'. This war will NEVER end until we rid ourselves of the infection that is festering in the halls of our Government. Any legislation passed by the House and Senate to defund, deauthorize or in any other way try to end this war WILL be vetoed by War Criminal Bush. That is a fact as sure as I'm sitting here typing this and you're sitting here reading this. "War" is their agenda and their reason for being. War, money and power is their driving force.

In short, there is no way at this moment to begin moving forward with any type of real legislation on ending this war because of the obstructions in our path. Those obstructions are George W Bush, Richard B Cheney and every congress member who supports and enables them. Impeachment is the chainsaw that will clear the path to progress."

5. any time... we need to get impeachment out in the open and get it in the minds
and on the lips of everyone in this Country. I'm fed up with the naysayers and enablers.. we need to put an end to their incessant whining about not having the votes. It's not about having the votes, it's about doing what is right, what is MANDATED by our Constitution, and holding these criminals accountable.

If you're against impeachment, you're against Democracy, the American People and the rule of law in this Country. Plain and simple. I have no sympathy for the enablers. Smoke the snakes out of their holes.
