Poll question: If Dem leadership does not pursue impeachment, leaving...
...Chimpy's dictatorial toolbox in place for the next president, and if yet a third consecutive presidential election is stolen and nightmare of nightmares comes to pass: Rudy gets installed -- at what point after being sworn in do you believe he would start filling up the Rex-84 facilities?

Note: For the purposes of this poll we will assume he gets reinstalled via ChoicePoint for a second term.

Rudy as President is our absolute worst nightmare scenario, and I think it could easily happen.

18. Imho, there's a difference between the PNACers and
the corporate multinationals' interests.

The PNACers are ideologues and the corporate interests have always been with us and trying to steer policy to their benefit.

It's our misfortune that the two are colluding presently.

...grows daily, and that's what they'll be working from when they start filling up the camps.

21. Yes, but they won't be called by those labels...
...they'll be domestic terrorists (Lindsey Graham's 5th column) found to be conspiring to ______________________ (fill in the blank), which will be considered a most serious crime against the state.

10. These "people" can't win a Federal election. They have to steal
it again. It's ours to lose via election fraud -- again.

So, in a way, they could run a ham sandwich and still keep the White House.

I just hope that Nancy lets Mr. Conyers loose on their @sses before then and that our election reform movement avoids the Bev Harris Distraction in the short term. We were building an election protection infrastructure before that grifter started distracting people with her bs.

12. I assume this must be "sarcasm"?
The only reason we have a chance at election reform is because of "Bev Harris" Conyers has laid down on the job and hasn't done a damn thing since democrats took the house by accident.

14. No. The only reason we have division in the movement
Edited on Sat Jul-14-07 01:26 PM by sfexpat2000
is because of Bev Harris, who has consistently taken credit for the work of others WHILE she alienates and attacks activists. How well do you know that grifter?

And, Mr. Conyers has taken his marching orders from Pelosi for now.

26. Hardly
I have read enough to understand the only thing that went down was that she is passionate about this subject and wasn't going to take any bull. In many occasions the most strident defenders of democracy are the ones "banned" from various websites.
Personally I find that deplorable considering Bev Harris has done more for bringing election fraud into the light of day than EVERYBODY on DU all combined.

27. This is getting silly...Why
not go out and campaing as hard as you can for your candidate and if that candidate does not win then come on board with another and win back the White House...All this defeatism is what is going on here....One thinks many believe a dem cannot win in 08....BS!!!! I am pro HRC and if she does not get the nomination I am not going to pout and take my money and go home. HELL NO!! I will support whomever is our candidate....That is what we all here at DU should be doing....Support, support the candiate of your chosing and if that person does not win then get on board with the nominee, and lets win the election of 08....Hell, it will not be hard to do, but it will be harder if one believes from the get go a dem cannot win....

I do thank you
Ben David

29. I do not believe Dem leadership...
...is yet showing serious signs that they are willing to pursue impeaching Bush and Cheney, nor do I see any real indication that the election rigging/theft issues have been at all satisfactorily addressed. The mechanisms by which Neocons stole the presidency in '00 and '04 appear to be still in place. Amazingly, we haven't heard word one from any prominent Dem leaders on this issue.

In the face of these realities I cannot agree that this thread amounts to and exercise in unfounded defeatism.

Ernest Partridge of the Crisis Papers recently wrote an excellent piece on the topic of election theft:

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/CrisisPapers/106

---SNIP---

The statistical, circumstantial and anecdotal evidence add up to a compelling case that in every national election of the new century, some election fraud has frustrated the will of the American voters. Thus we have suffered through two illegitimate administrations. Even in 2006, when the Democrats took control of Congress, there is good reason to believe that several contests were rigged. However, this time the collective will of the voters was too strong to be overcome by the "fixers."...
