Impeachment is the chainsaw that will clear the path to progress
Our Constitution is the foundation and cornerstone of our Democracy and it has been trampled on and shredded under the misadministration of George W Bush and Richard B Cheney.

They lied not only to us, the American People, but the whole world in general about their reasons to go to war in Iraq. They created false intelligence to fit their agenda of perpetual war. This perpetual war is only a cover for their true motivation: The subversion Democracy and the takeover of our Government to install a Unitary Executive, a Dictator.

It is my firm belief that they had foreknowledge of the attacks on 9-11 and that they purposely ignored the warnings because the attacks would give them their opening to implement their takeover. This was their "New Pearl Harbor" referred to in the PNAC Manifesto. At the very least, the attacks of 9-11 were LIHOP.

I have heard the "we don't have the votes" meme spewed a few too many times, as well as the "we need to focus on ending the war" meme. Both of these arguments are failed in their logic. Let's take a look:

"We don't have the votes":
How do you know? Has a poll been taken of Congress? We won't know if we have the votes until we actually TRY to impeach. The investigations going on now in the House and Senate are showing more and more each day that the bush/cheney junta is nothing more than a criminal enterprise.

We need to make each and every one of our elected officials stand up, on the record, and state whether they stand for We, The People and our Constitution and Democracy, or if they stand behind this criminal junta. It's time to smoke the snakes out of their holes and into the light of day so we can identify them and work to get them removed from office in the next elections (IF we have a next election).

1. You have my vote!!
You'll need quite a few mongoose to catch them as they run for cover. Rove needs to be eliminated first though.

4. Thank you for the kind words
I am enjoying this site more than just about anything else in my life with the exception of my wife and daughter. They are both from the UK and have a good giggle at the constant predicaments that these fools are getting themselves into. I shall endeavor to make the correct comments at the appropriate times if that's possible!!

8. Watching this administration is almost as good as watching the 3 Stooges
except it isn't funny, because these are the people who run our Country.

DU is a great forum, and it's very addicting.. welcome, again... and enjoy the show!

3. I wholeheartedly agree with you, Ghost. The thing I'm not
getting from the impeachment pooh-poohers is that if we shouldn't impeach, then WHEN and HOW will these criminals get the justice they deserve?

Maybe one of you impeachment pooh-poohers can enlighten me.

5. Thanks Texas Explorer
Good luck on the impeachment pooh poohers enlightening you, though. I sometimes wonder if some of them even believe their own crap they're spewing.

I'll say it again, for those who are unclear: Passing legislation to end the war is a useless and time wasting endeavor unless and until we remove Bush and Cheney. ANY legislation that passes the House and/or Senate that has anything to do with ending this war WILL BE VETOED OR RENDERED MOOT VIA SIGNING STATEMENT IF IT WAS PASSED BY A VETO PROOF MAJORITY. Passing legislation right now is a lot like throwing spears at airplanes.... a noble, yet futile gesture. Quit throwing spears and break out the big artillery.

If you don't understand that now, you never will. If you can't admit that to yourselves right now there's something wrong with your critical thinking skills. Open your eyes and your mind. Please!

Impeachment, whether successful or not, is an imperative first step to righting the wrongs of this misadministration.

6. "Passing legislation to end the war is a useless

Funny how they spend all this time preparing, debating, and voting on doomed legislation but "there's not enough time to impeach" and pursuing impeachment would divert attention from more important matters, such as working to pass legislation that seeks to end the war in Iraq.

Huh?

7. It's enough to make you freakin' dizzy if try to follow that logic, isn't it?
but hey... at least it lets them look like they're doing something. A great way to spend taxpayer's time and money!
