Gee, I wonder why the population supports the insurgency?...

could it be because they are beating innocent people to death and planting weapons on their body to make it seem as if they were killed in a firefight?

Then again according to the administration everybody has morphed into Al-Qaida.

The United States has committed war crimes, is on the wrong side of history and has never held the moral high ground in Iraq. The United States cannot win an immoral war and it should not. Period.
