I have had it. Giving the Republicans in Congress a pass to do as they please, obstruct whatever legislation they like and pay no penalty for doing so has to stop.

Harry Reid must do his job and make the Senate GOP physically stand up and filibuster. Or we might as well declare Congress to be a lovely afternoon tea party and be done with it.

Civility doesn’t mean that you roll over and ask for a belly scratch from your opponents — it means that everyone plays by the rules on all sides. We had 56 votes for the Webb bill — but could not get it through because a super-majority was required of 60 votes for cloture. This has happened time and time again. The GOP continually obstructs? Then they ought to pay a hefty public price. Harry Reid needs to lead on this — or get the hell out of the way.

Cindy Sheehan needs to do a sit-in at McConnell or Voinovich's office...get the cameras and the focus on where the real battles are.

Yes, Senator Reid needs to keep pushing, but he can't do it alone. We need to let our Senators know we want this fillibuster to end. For Democrats its standing strong and demanding up or down votes. For Repugnicans its shaming them into try to keep washing the blood off their hands and wedging them against this regime...the ultimate check on the boooshie power until the '08 election drives 'em all out.

Making them actually shut down congress and filibuster seems counter-productive, unless you think they would back down if they actually had to do the work. I think there are enough Republicanoids that they could switch it around and keep it going.

i am sick to hell of hearing this crap about votes and vetoes. tie their asses up, make them stand and talk. it is time for a do nothing senate. do nothing is better than doing anything this madman will sign. 'bout time you started giving them a little real hell, harry.
