Is Vitter ‘morally unfit to govern’?

Is Vitter ‘morally unfit to govern’?

At a press conference this afternoon, Sen. David Vitter broke his silence and spoke for the first time since he acknowledged being on the D.C. madam’s list. A remorseless Vitter attacked his “long time political enemies and those hoping to profit from the situation.” Vitter said he would not answer questions on the issue, claiming that “might sell newspapers but wouldn’t serve my family or my constituents well.” Watch it at link~

In Oct. 1998, Vitter attacked President Clinton, arguing the proper question was not whether people cared but rather whether Clinton was “morally unfit to govern.”

Some current polls may suggest that people are turned off by the whole Clinton mess and don’t care — because the stock market is good, the Clinton spin machine is even better or other reasons. But that doesn’t answer the question of whether President Clinton should be impeached and removed from office because he is morally unfit to govern.

4. His wife just went on TV and threw her support behind him, so I'd say
she trusts him. Would I? I don't think so but luckily have never been in that position.

9. she doesn't "trust" him, she lives off his income thus there is a profit motive
there is no way that ms. vitter could earn the kind of living on her own that she gets as a senator's wife

she is a whore no less than any of the other women vitter hired

8. Ethically, now morally, unfit. He puts party over the good of the country.
Vitter, a Republican who licks the boots of the most partisan president this country has ever seen, could have done more to help his state get back to normal in a more timely manner. He hasn't been vocal & up front on the issue as Mary Landrieu has been.

10. Leaving aside the diaper thing, anybody who wants to throw outlaw the pill, throw women in jail
for getting abortions, and is incapable of respecting the principle of Separation of Church and State is "morally unfit to govern".

That's pretty much the Republican Party, right there.

15. I Think What We Did Was Immoral And Illegal
but it was not such a large trangression that his plea for forgiveness should be ignored...What galls me is the hypocrisy... That's unforgivable unless he apologized for that too...

17. yip
He broke the law, apparently repeated in hiring prostitutes. I think repeatedly willfully breaking the law does make you unfit to hold office.
