METAIRIE, La. - Sen. David Vitter on Monday denied having relationships with New Orleans prostitutes, a week after admitting links to a Washington escort service that federal prosecutors allege was a prostitution ring.


Vitter emerged from a week of seclusion by appearing at a news conference in suburban Metairie while holding hands with his wife, Wendy. He denied the New Orleans prostitution allegations and offered no indication that he would resign. He said he planned to fly Monday night to Washington to resume work in the Senate.

"I want to again offer my deep, sincere apologies to all those I have let down and disappointed with actions from my past," Vitter said. "I am completely responsible, and I am so very, very sorry."

The New Orleans madam says Vitter was a client but according to her lawyer and the investigators on her criminal case, Vitter's name appears nowhere in her records.

kind of splitting hairs imo, he still used the services of a brothel. And most likely someone will have pics of him using the same type of services in NO, it's only a matter of time. this story needs to get more traction because he's trying to run out the clock for the August recess and if that happens him resining will be a total non starter.

Baby Kangaroo in Diaper Found Safe

It's a hoppy ending after all. A baby kangaroo in a diaper was found safe over the weekend, two hours after being reported missing from an exotic-animal farm, the Dodge County Sheriff's Department said Monday. "It was just outside the residence. It must have been hiding," Sheriff Todd Nehls said.

The male kangaroo — just "three months out of the pouch," according to sheriff's department dispatch logs — was reported missing Saturday. But authorities had it listed as missing on Sunday because the owners didn't call to say they found it, Nehls said.

Deputies weren't fazed when the missing-kangaroo call first came in.
