Is there Dem Strategy involved in the Lieberman "License to Bomb Iran Amendment?" ...97-0 Vote?
Edited on Tue Jul-17-07 11:13 AM by KoKo01
Most of us have seen all the posts about this "Amendment" and the language contained in the "Findings Section" which lays out what Iraq is supposedly doing to support terrorists in such inflammatory language that it might almost mirror the rhetoric for the "Iraq Resolution" which allowed us to invade.

ALL of our Dems including those running for President (Biden, Obama, Hillary, Dodd) voted for this Amendment which gives Bush power to Bomb Iraq because the "findings" say that Iraq is supporting terrorism and giving arms to Hezbollah and the Iraqi Insurgents and states must STOP doing this or suffer consequences. Since Iran is no more able to stop whatever is going on in Iraq any more than our Puppet controlled Iraqi Government is able to stop the Civil War there...then HOW is Iran supposed to stop the supply line and the insurgents?

Why our Democrats would allow Bush another "free card" to bomb another country given the carnage in Iraq is so disturbing an puzzling that the only answer that might make any sense is that Democrats want Iran off the table before '08 so that it can't be used against them. On the one hand they are trying to wind down the troop numbers in Iraq...but to do that they have to appear "STRONG" on Terrorism. So...they do a unanimous vote supporting a turncoat a DINO DEM..who ran as an INDIE in the last election and a person who has threatened to leave the Dems if he doesn't get his way with an Amendment that they hope will be a "trade off" for support in getting out of Iraq?

Is trade off to electing a Democratic President in our Party's mind to allow Bombing of Iran to get it out of the way so that they can not be subjected to "Cut and Run & Soft on Terror" attacks? Do they REALLY THINK bombing Iran won't have consequences? What ELSE could they be thinking to allow this "War Resolution II" to pass overwhelmingly?

(Read this...if you haven't heard about the Lieberman Amendment)

2. Strategy? No. Just politicians being politicians.
“Now, the man on the stand he wants my vote,
He's a-runnin' for office on the ballot note.
He's out there preachin' in front of the steeple,
Tellin' me he loves all kinds-a people.
(He's eatin' bagels
He's eatin' pizza
He's eatin' chitlins
He's eatin' bullshit!)”

6. the findings are not authorisation, the amendment asks for a bi-monthly report trashing Iran
Edited on Tue Jul-17-07 11:00 AM by TheBaldyMan
that is all.

btw the findings listed are bullshit beginning to end. Among the more ridiculous howlers is the accusation that Iran is "interfereing in the internal affairs of Iraq".

Who says Americans can't get irony.
