BREAKING: Olbermann to Moderate AFL-CIO Presidential Forum (Submit your questions!)
Edited on Tue Jul-17-07 12:02 PM by IanDB1
THIS JUST IN: Popular television host Keith Olbermann will be moderating the AFL-CIO Presidential Candidates Forum from 6-7:30
p.m. CDT on Aug. 7 in Chicago.

And we wanted you, the e-mail activists who every day make a difference for working families, to hear the big news right
away.

Olbermann and working men and women at the forum will question the candidates--and some of the questions will come from
e-activists like you.

Vote now for the question you'd like the presidential candidates to answer:

http://www.aflcio.org/issues/politics/contest/view.cfm?appState=listStories

Watch the forum live--tune in yourself or invite folks over for a Watch Party--Aug. 7 from 6-7:30 p.m. CDT (7-8:30 p.m. EDT) on
MSNBC. Or listen to it on XM Satellite Radio.

The response to the question contest has been overwhelming.

You've already submitted nearly 1,200 questions, on topics such as the Employee Free Choice Act, health care, international
trade, education, energy, CEO pay, Iraq, immigration and the future of the labor movement.

AFL-CIO union members submitted the questions, but anyone can vote for a general question, or a specific question directed to
the confirmed candidates for the forum: Sens. Joe Biden, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Christopher Dodd and Barack Obama; former Sen.
John Edwards; Rep. Dennis Kucinich; and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.

With a fine host like Keith Olbermann, along with questions directly from working men and women and their families, the
presidential forum is sure to be a hit.

In solidarity,

Working Families e-Activist Network, AFL-CIO

P.S. Anyone can vote here on the questions. Just click the vote button on your favorite question to cast your vote. You can vote
on as many questions as you like, but only one vote per question in a 24-hour period is permitted.

Unfortunately, we need to submit questions to ask the CANDIDATES... NOT questionsn to ask Keith Olbermann. Otherwise, I would ask, "Do you think Stephanie Miller is pretty? Because she says she really likes you."

17. I doubt he will describe them as a "Regal Procession"
because he knows that they, unlike the Republican candidates, know they are not trying to be elected KING!

I can't believe it that some people still hold it against Olbermann that he noted a difference between the way Republicans walk into a debate and the way Democrats walk in. He never said the way the Repubs walked in was "better." He just said it was "different." I got the impression he meant "different in a GOOD way." Like, they don't act as if they rule the world, so they don't march in like they're in a "royal procession," they WALK in like human beings.

I expect he'll do a great job moderating this debate.

But I think you have a better way of looking at it.

Impeachment

by Milhouse

What are you going to do to assure me, the American voter that George Bush, Dick Cheney, Alberto Gonzales, Donal Rumsfeld, Condi Rice, and all of the rest of these criminals will be held accountable for their War Crimes, and failing to keep their oaths to defend the Constitution? And on a related note, can you assure me that the attacks on 9/11 will be THOROUGHLY investigated by a non-partisan, independent scientific-based committee who has nothing to lose (or gain,) by their findings?

If elected to the Presidency, will you support and sponsor a bill that states all Federal Senators & Congressmen have to pay into social security just like the rest of us? And as a follow up will you raise the current maximum earning level that one has to pay in equal to today's earnings? (Currently it's $80K - which is low by today's standards.)
