1. Make him veto it. That's the goal.

2. The point is to repeatedly force the Republicans
to confront their unpopular position on Iraq, and to show the country how far they are willing to go to keep the soldiers dying to no apparent purpose.

5. Another goal is to force the Rethugs to VOTE to continue the war
which will help to defeat them in the next election.

They won't be able to blame everything on an unpopular President.

9. But they DON'T already know. If Bush has to veto 20 bills that move us in the direction
of leaving Iraq, make him do it.. it will completely KILL the talking point "the Dems aren't doing any more to get us out of Iraq than the Republicans".

Do you honestly think they will not float that talking point? Shameless as they are, they absolutely will, if allowed.

8. They still won't get 60 for cloture, so it isn't really an issue
What the dems are doing now is saying "if you don't want to end debate, then debate the issue". It will help to highlight who it is that is stalling the legislation. That is all this will accomplish. However, they are actually trying to do something, and I applaud them for it.

10. It's all about making the puke Senators visible.
They are dropping like flies off the * side of the arguement.
This will focus a lot of attention on those who are not serving their constituents.

11. Congress is an EQUAL branch of government.
Congress doesn't have to send a bill he wants to sign.

If they disagree then they need to find middle ground. I agree with the 'send the bill back'. The moneys there. If he doesn't sign it then he is depriving the troops of money.

We don't have the votes for Removal but we're gunna do all these other things instead of wasting our time trying...If that makes sense to you I have an aluminum mine for sale cheap...

16. We need to remember how this is done properly.
Politics is a slow process. Patience is a virtue and violence is clearly a sign of weakness, so therefore, obviously any discussion about the war must really be painful to those that still support this awful clusterf@#k. People will drop off quickly and be exposed to their country and their constituents in times like this. This is only the beginning, Stay tuned...

17. By the Dem illogic on impeachment, they should not try to pass ANY bill
that does not have enough (N=67) votes to override a veto.

Must keep their powder dry for bills they know Georgie approves of.
