I just wanted to express my anger to the airlines of this country and our service men and women. My son who is in the Air Force is coming home tomorrow for leave and he told me that his military issued duffle bag might weigh more than 50lbs. He was worried so I called American Airlines and they told me he would be charged $25 for the additional weight. "I said, WHAT!" you've got to be kidding me, I said he's in the military coming home on leave and your going to nickle and dime him with a $25 fee, she told me that was their rules. So I called my son back and told him and he said that during his out-processing they told him the same thing.
Am I on glue or is the most outrageous thing you've ever heard of. I told my son that if they do try and charge him to say he didn't have the extra money on him, then I would contact the local and national news and tell them what our airlines are doing to the men and women who are defending, serving and protecting our country and trying to get an extra buck from them. I am so pissed off that this won't be the last that the airlines hear from me. Forgive me for those of you that might work for the airlines, but fuck them. It is a total disgrace that the airlines would even have the nerve to do this. Our government at it's best, squeezing everything they can out of our service personnel. :wtf: :grr:
