Does It Bother Anyone That The WP Article On Expanded Executive Privilege Gives No Source?

Read the article, it doesn't tell you where the news came from. It doesn't provide a document, it doesn't tell you who they talked to, it doesn't say when it happened. Here is a matter of utmost Constitutional importance and it seems to have no more credence than a rumor. What in hell is going on here?

3. Purposeful Leaking

It's one thing to insist on anonymity to a WaPo reporter; if they try it, someone is going to have to take the argument to a judge.

My guess is they would rather not have to actually try it, and put a face on it, and want to scare the Dems off.

If I had to guess I would say this came out of the Office of the Vice President, and David Addington created it.

They believe if they had been in charge during Watergate, Nixon would have finished his term, and the concept of 'Executive Privilege' would unassailable today.

8. It's not really their final statement, just an insider's view of the prevailing opinion

among the cabal. Probably accurate, but not yet certain they'll lead with that argument. They'll probably just proceed with that presumption of Justice's response to the question of privilege and work to make it so. Congress will have to decide the best course to confront them over this. I favor seeking some sort of resolution in Congress and force republicans to vote either for or against WH accountability on the charges and abuses assumed behind the subpoenas.

What is worrisome is the reaction here and the lack of analysis. You are a rare bird around here. The "end-of-the-world" crowd needs your sage viewpoint. Are we being invaded by worry worms?
