Like most here, I have read a number of posts about impeachment and whether it is a good idea, a good idea for later, or not important. I thought I would create a poll and see where DU'ers are on the issue of Democratic Congressional priorities. I have chosen three: impeachment (I), anti-war (W), and domestic issues (D). I also am adding a "Sheehan caveat" to two of the answers, and they will be: pro-Sheehan, anti-Sheehan, neutral Sheehan. The 'caveat' is not whether you dis/like her as a person or activist, but rather if you agree with her positions, statements, and actions the majority of the time. If you agree, then you are "pro," if you don't, then you are "anti." I have also noticed some see her positions, statements, and actions as "non-starters," or not really important one way or the other and the person has no strong objections or support for those positions, statements, and actions; that is the "neutral" choice.
"Anti-war" means you feel Congress should stop this war by de-funding it, funding a withdrawal, or some other action, other than impeachment. If you feel "impeachment" is how to stop the war, then choose either I, W, D or I, D, W.
Because of the limited number of choices allowed on DU, I will only add the 'Sheehan caveat' to the following two choices: impeachment (I), anti-war (W), and domestic issues (D) and anti-war (W), impeachment (I), and domestic issues (D). They will not be included with the following choices: I, D, W; W, D, I; D, I, W; or D, W, I. Also, there will sadly be no "other" choice. However, if you have an "other," please added it or if you want to choose one of the other choices that doesn't have the "Sheehan caveat" and add your opinion in that regards.
So, DU, what should the Democratic Congressional priorities be?
(Please occasionally kick and add comments as needed, thanks! Hat tip to Lerkfish for the idea!)
