Kerry: Bush Clings to Failed Policy, False Rationale for Iraq War
WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) delivered the Democratic response to President Bush’s speech in Charleston, SC on the fight against terrorism and Iraq.

Below is Senator Kerry’s statement:

"Today the President ignored his own intelligence agencies and continued to spin a false rationale for the escalation of the war in Iraq,” Senator Kerry said. “The National Intelligence Estimate contradicted what the President said today and made it clear that Al Qaeda is stronger because of our massive military presence in Iraq. No surplus of presidential scare tactics changes the fact that Iraqis will only stand up if we give them deadlines and engage in diplomacy. The President continues to traffic in the politics of fear rather than give our troops a policy based on truth."

4. Too bad people don't blame a party that didn't back him up when it mattered

Let alone the media. But it's much more fun and productive to blame the candidate.

6. We backed him...we were here and we wanted him to fight
geeze at least for his manhood...they lied about his Vietnam service....he served, he did his time and he should have fought for that...he stepped on Vietnamese soil....

When you say party you are talking about the DLC and other organizations that were ineffectual in putting out the right messages...in his defense...I will give you that...

His political advisors sucked.....he even admits he should have fought....

I do agree with you that his advisors were bad. He does admit mistakes were made, but a least he took responsibility for them unlike the people that should have been doing the most difficult work. They have put ALL blame on Kerry.

I don't know why people would rather blame one person instead of the party that failed him.

8. Not to mention most of the higher ups in the party
Meanwhile I've always suspected he got screwed by people who were supposed to be on his side.
