I don't get it. You find cheese with wires in the airport
and yet you say there is no cause for alarm?

Did you ask the passengers why their blocks of cheese were wrapped with wires and some type of switches?

2. I would like to know what happened to the person who tried to get that
through security. Did they just let him/her go because it was 'only' cheese and wire? What kind of excuses did they provide?

3. Here's the alarming thing: of every 8 caught, 2 get through.

Airport screeners miss 20% of all knives, guns, and bottles of baby formula. :scared:

4. Yeah, now that I've read that, if it is true...it's pretty weird:
"The four seizures are described as follows:

# San Diego, July 7. A U.S. person - either a citizen or a foreigner legally here - checked baggage containing two ice packs covered in duct tape. The ice packs had clay inside them rather than the normal blue gel.

# Milwaukee, June 4. A U.S. person's carry-on baggage contained wire coil wrapped around a possible initiator, an electrical switch, batteries, three tubes and two blocks of cheese. The bulletin said block cheese has a consistency similar to some explosives.

# Houston, Nov. 8, 2006. A U.S. person's checked baggage contained a plastic bag with a 9-volt battery, wires, a block of brown clay-like minerals and pipes.

# Baltimore, Sept. 16, 2006. A couple's checked baggage contained a plastic bag with a block of processed cheese taped to another plastic bag holding a cellular phone charger."

I know that even were I to bring cheese on a flight for some reason, I probably wouldn't be taping it to my cell phone.

15. The ice packs story (as reported) was debunked here earlier today
Given the bullshit way the media/gov't embellishes these stories, I don't doubt there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for the cheese as well.

8. Like I believe anything they tell me, at this point.
Right. Uh-huh. People were carrying bomb-making supplies through airports - ten months ago. And they're just now getting around to telling us this?

Uh-huh. Stay tuned for the latest Osama bin Laden video.

10. I'd be more alarmed if my cheese didn't have wires in it.
Electric cheese is the newest diet fad -- you can taste the cheesy goodness, but you cannot swallow it.

17. Played again!
Saw this story on several times today, along with the fire in Dallas(!), and the summer chestnut (who are we kidding?) seasonal air travel woes.

Gonzalez testimony? Not so much.

Not a word about the alleged "foreign operatives" fate. I mean if I can assume a speedy foreign rendition or ticket to Gitmo, can't the terrarists, too? Doesn't seem to be their m.o. to just give up their freedom for nothing.

Bullshit!
Bullshit!
BUSHIT!
