I remember thinking that he needs to pull a Lee Atwater quickly. Surprised he hasn't done so yet.

23. Not going to happen
Tony had an opportunity to take a graceful step off of the world stage.
Instead, he chose to come back and become a "made man".

2. I don't know how many people have followed Tony Snow, but he certainly...
looks like he is not far off passing.. IMO.... His hair has certainly turned in a very short period of time, and he looks very frail.... (I think his nose has grown a hell of allot longer in the past month or so as well)

14. Means mods put the whammy on it so no new replies could be made
That results in the thread falling until it creeps out of sight.

Usually due to some sort of counter-productive or down right destructive turn in the discussion which went from bad to worse to pointless

26. Welcome to the DU, hisownpetard...

We're transplants from Massachusetts -- I married a native of Brockton, MA and we lived in Sudbury for 30 years.

Do you understand the concept of the locked thread?

It's the way that the mods (volunteer moderators) take control of a conversation that may have become too personal, too inflammatory, or where DUers are attacking one another. Basically, it's shutting down the conversation for some cause.

You'll see it demonstrated if you stay around a while.

Nice to meetchu on the DU!

Warm regards,

Radio Lady in Oregon

12. Yeah, for a month or so, he's been going downhill.

I know going to work may do him good but I hope he's not spending full days at work, he should be spending most of his time with his wife and kids, and doing whatever he likes to do. At least, that's what I would do or want my husband to do under the circumstances.

Tony, just go in and do the press conference, let somebody else do the gaggle. The jerks you work for won't even come to your funeral.

Lying for the Bush administration -

It is really twisted. Think about it, terminal cancer & this is what he does?! It is a sick choice in any situation, but man, what a way to go out!

That almost sounds fundie freeperish.

Like AIDS, or long ago, Bubonic Plague, God's wrath could be called "consequences".

19. His masters are EXPLOITING his terminal condition...
that's why the smug piece of garbage is still out there lying for them every day. There is hope that the WH press corps will go easy on him due to his delicate condition.

bushco actually displays more contempt for Snowe than I do. I think that he is despicable and I won't be sorry to see him go, but I sure wouldn't be pressuring him to carry water for criminals in his final weeks of life.

Tony is looking very frail.

Not only is his hair white, but it's thinning, too.

I can't say that I wish him ill, although I definitely do not agree with his political positions.

He already has enough to deal with.

...i certainly don't pray for tony snow or any repuke. i don't really pray at all.

but i guess if i did pray, i probably wouldn't have time to pray for fascists and nazis because i'd be praying for the hundreds of thousands of people that are dead or suffering because of the illegal war they caused. and i'd pray for the poor and the sick and the environment and everyone and everything else that suffers when repukes (aka corporate whores) are in control of the government and the military. i'd be all prayed out and wouldn't have any time left for garbage like tony snow.

33. At least chemo has advanced so people can go to work
Metastatic colon cancer killed my mom 20 years ago. She'd spend a week in the hospital getting chemo and the next three weeks trying to regain her strength to go back in for the next round. She only made it 8 1/2 months after diagnosis. She never lost her hair, but she became jaundiced and skeletal near the end.

I hate Tony Snow with a purple passion, but I don't wish this on anybody.

I feel sorry for people with cancer.
I don't wish cancer on anyone, even Cheney.

He is a horrible man.

42. If he IS on the slow, steady decline of a terminal illness...
... then I truly feel bad for him. He may be a lying Republicon mouthpiece and an obstructionist for the worst Presidential administration ever, but I would not wish something like that on my worst enemy.

I hope he gets the help he needs and that he recovers soon. And if it is to the point where there IS no recovery, then I hope he doesn't suffer. Nobody deserves that. Nobody.

Anybody that DOES wish that on somebody... Well, there's aren't words cruel enough to describe them.

45. That could be the reason. Or he can't stand having time on his hands
just contemplating the end of his life.

I quit my part time job when I had some bad health problems (not cancer thank god). I didn't think I could carry on even part time and the agency I worked for deserved someone who could.

It's bad karma to wish him ill, IMHO. While I am sure Bush couldn't care less, it would be nice if Cheney has some pity on Snow, since Dick has his own life threatening illness...
