Giuliani may skip St. Pete (YouTube) debate
Republican presidential front-runner Rudy Giuliani may have better things to do than answer YouTube users' questions at the GOP debate in St. Petersburg.

The news broke late Thursday that the former New York City mayor has scheduling issues with the Sept. 17 date, jeopardizing the showdown at the Mahaffey Theater.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney also is frowning on the plan.

"I think the presidency ought to be held at a higher level than having to answer questions from a snowman," Romney told the Manchester (N.H.) Union Leader this week.

Well, there you have it. The GOP candidates balk at having to answer actual, honest-to-gawd questions from people they hope to get votes from. Might get put on the spot...couldn't spin it...wouldn't be prudent...

1. Snowmen?
Oh, Mittens. Silly, clueless, Mittens.

Say, anybody got that Romney Fudge photo? It's just such a shining example of old Mitt's public relations prowess. I would so love to see it, save it and refer to it in the future.

2. make a note: just like the bushies, these GOPers do not want
to take a chance of getting a NON-SCRIPTED PRE-APPROVED SCREENED question

6. from the article
"The announcement comes just a week after the debate's location was announced, and just days after Democratic presidential candidates fielded questions from citizens who made YouTube videos, including one of a snowman worried about global warming."

Mittens sneers at Frosty!

11. In the dem debates one of the youtububers was dressed as
a snowman while asking a global warming question

Maybe Mittens is worried someone will dress as a dog and ask for a ride

inside the Romney car

10. Rudy's afraid of being asked about moving his mistress into NY's governor mansion, etc.
And the sad thing is that CNN would probably ditch any videos that were about that to protect him. This whole YouTube thing is an improvement over just pundits asking questions, but what I would love to see is a town hall meeting made up of ordinary citizens - no stocking the place with people friendly to the candidates' political outlook. No one knows the questions ahead of time, and people are randomly chosen to ask theirs.
