So where is Arlen Specter today?
Two days ago, he had planned to "review the Senate testimony of US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel A. Alito to determine if their reversal of several long-standing opinions conflicts with promises they made to senators to win confirmation".

Yesterday he met with Commander DontFuckWithMe up in Airforce One.

Is he still planning to "review" that testimony? Or did he decide that not being thrown out of the plane was more important?

Already called and mentioned his "chat" with Bush on Air Force One.
Asked the staffer to remind him of the oath he took to defend the CONSTITUTION, not his political party.

13. Dig This One...

Mr. Specter is something of a serial breaker of the unspoken rules aboard Air Force One. In 2004, in chatting with reporters on the plane, he went so far as to share election strategy as told to him by Mr. Bush and Mr. Rove.

The president was not annoyed enough on Thursday, however, to keep the senator from traveling back to Washington from the morning’s event here, a speech to a group of conservative state legislators on taxes, terrorism, war and education.

Oh that silly Arlen. He's a kidder. You know Arlen...

Here is the definitive "rainmaker" in operation. He's the so-called "maverick" now as McCain has lost that title...and thus he plays media darling and soundbite maven when he goes off the reservation, but it's all repudiated or downright ignored by him within days or weeks. This one took hours.

We all saw Arlen's true colors at the Clarence Thomas hearings...just the same old Arlen...he's such a kidder

24. from the link
According to a pool report of the encounter, Mr. Specter expressed anew his criticism of Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales but said he saw no signs that Mr. Gonzales would be forced to resign. Mr. Specter attributed Mr. Gonzales’s job security to Mr. Bush’s “personal loyalty” to him.

8. He's Cleaning The Shitstains Off His Nose...
Bad Arlen...Bad Bad Arlen. How many times do we have to tell you, Arlen, you can't crap on this regime in the House...err I mean Senate. You take it outiside in the back and be a good Arlen.

(Sfx: Cracking Whip)

You do that again, Arlen...and we won't let you play with Lieberman on the Sunday "Talk" shows.

How about the 180 with a double twist and half gainer that he did on selecting a Special Prosecutor?

Well it appears Arlen got a plane ticket...and usually this spells doom when it's connected with the booosh regime...but it really didn't take that much. A warm cup of milk and a "be reasonable Arlen, or else" was all needed to be said.

16. Read the NYT piece first. The girl on his DC phone line
is very nice. Arlen is in a unique position to be able to actually DO something. He should be encouraged to do the right thing, not just irritated at the crap his office mouse is getting.

22. I didn't mean to suggest people be rude to Specter's staffers.
It's just that as a long-time follower of Specter's dirty dealings it's hard not to get disgusted with his latest antics. I'm not too optimistic about the possibility of impacting his vote.

I think it's possible to register your disapproval without being rude. Specter's staffers have always been very polite in return. I can say that that is not always the case in my experience in dealing with other members of Congress.

12. Why does no one ever call him on his shit?
How many times has he publicly stated he was going to do something, then did nothing? He is placed in this position of power and is never held accountable. If the Democrats, or mainstream media (don't hold your breath), don't pull their shit together and start calling these assholes on their shit, then I just don't know. It's just pathetic all around.
