On Monday my longtime companion Pepper lost her battle against old age. She fought bravely right to the end. I will miss my little buddy.

She was 17 or 18 years old, a good life for a cat.

We lost our old guy Willie last year, he was 20. I still miss him. :(

When I took her home from the Bide-A-Wee in 1992 they said they thought she was about 2 years old but couldn't be sure. And you are right, many happy memories.

at my Vet's office they have sayings: this one is appropriate:

Sorry to hear about Pepper.

All of my Truthseeker friends have been very comforting.

I'm sure she had the best possible life with her human guardian, and that she loved you every day of her life.

Thinking of you during this sad and lonely time. I know your instinct is to say you don't want to get another cat now, feeling you're betraying her memory. But if you're up to it, just leave yourself open to all the cats out there just waiting for a loving home. It's the best legacy you can give to Pepper.

(That's how we ended up with 4!:shrug:)

Sorry for the delayed response. I am so grateful for the support that I have gotten from my Truthseeker friends. My apartment sure does feel empty. I sent a check to the Bide-A-Wee shelter in Pepper's memory. Maybe I will pay them a visit also? If I do I will not be able to go home alone. Thank you again.
