McCain says ramping up war on drugs can help border security
http://www.kgan.com/template/inews_wire/wires.regional.ia/26b749fa-www.kgan.com.shtml

GLADBROOK, Iowa (AP) -- Republican presidential hopeful John McCain says the United States should step up it's war on drugs as part of efforts to secure the country's borders.

He says that's because Americans are to blame for -- quote -- "creating the demand" for illegal drugs that come into the country and give too much power to drug cartels that terrorize border areas.

He says drugs are powerful, and they are strong, and that they have taken over America's border cities.

He says that the United States is creating the demand. He says young Americans need to be told that the use of drugs is a terrible thing.

2. Way to go John. Show how irrelevant you are as usual. It's not the war on
drugs that's the problem. It's this phony war on terra.

P.S. Both 'wars' are unwinnable.

The war on drugs should be inside the borders against Pfizer, Eli Lilly and the whole of the pharmaceutical industry. Every other ad on TV is for drugs, for new syndromes that never existed before like "restless leg syndrome". The drug industry creates faux health problems and then sells drugs for them.

6. If he wants to get "young Americans" to stop using drugs
he should say he uses them himself. What young American would want to emulate this old dried up piece a shit.

8. Say anything. Something might get the electorate's attention. Does
he also agree with * that we should have stayed in Vietnam? Americans didn't create the damand for illegal drugs. People's age old use of drugs and alcohol is part of who we are. Making them illegal and declaring "war" on them is why they are creating problems at the border and elsewhere. I'm so sick of hearing this illegal immigration/border spiel. Let's not talk about the unsecured ports though, right?
