Who Would Pavarotti Bomb?

Two of yesterday's top news stories (at least the two that evoked the most emotional response in me)were Pavarotti's death and the nuclear bombs transported willy-nilly across the central US.

I realized this morning how these events contrast humanity's striving for beauty and perfection (art) as opposed to our capacity for greed, even at the expense of our entire planet (war). I feel like we are living in a time of extremes, simultaneously told we ought to be "loving and compassionate" toward some, yet "fearful and hate-filled" toward others.

It is interesting that one of the names for a nuclear bomb is "Fat Man".

I want my children to grow up in a society where "Fat Men" dressed as clowns hit the high notes.
I don't want "Fat Men" falling from the sky over midwest cornfields or far away deserts.
