Checkup list for Southwest Airlines: fuel, cola, burka?

Kyla Ebbert, who was escorted off a Southwest Airlines flight two months ago for wearing an outfit far less revealing than a bikini top.

Ebbert, a Mesa College student and Hooters waitress, was allowed to stay on the plane, but only after she put up a fight and, she says, was lectured on how to dress properly.

1. The airlines have gotten downright militant
It didn't use to be like this.

4. And, as was just last week with Iraqi contractors
"passengers complained."

Yes, stressed out passengers will complain about many things, but there should be some adult supervision there.

6. Is this what you're talking about?
Leigh Robbins offered an apology to seven Iraqi men who were passengers on a plane scheduled to fly from San Diego to Chicago on Tuesday night. Robbins was also on the plane but was so terrified the men might be terrorists that she demanded to get off, causing a delay that prompted the airline to postpone the flight until the next morning.

10. Yup! We are getting so paranoid
that everything out of the ordinary (like non white people talking foreign languages) is a cause for "alerting" the authorities.

13. I guess so, but it was only that one lady on the plane who caused the problem
Can you imagine how you would have felt, to have been stuck overnight at some shithole motel near the airport just because of her? And I wonder how much money her tirade cost the airline?

Can you believe what she's saying, that she is justified in taking any action whatever, just as long as she claims she believes she is protecting her children in doing so? I guess if she would have only remembered to bring her machine gun, she could have killed everybody in sight just to make sure the little tykes were safe. Better to err on the side of caution, don'tcha know.

It was she, and not the 7 Iraqi men, who should have been pulled aside for special attention. I hate the no-fly lists but I would think this bigot should be included if anyone is.

2. What the hell is wrong with those people? There is nothing wrong with that outfit...
It's not something I would wear myself, but I'm not 23 years old any more, either! When my legs looked that good I wore mini-skirts myself!

Where are we going and why are we in this handbasket?

3. We have dress codes on airplanes now?
Damn, I better get my tox from the cleaners before the weekend flight.

It's a strange story and frankly I doubt if it is the _whole_ story, but as a frequent flyer I am not entirely against airlines setting some house rules. Either way, they have every right to chose their own policy.
I wonder if refusing the hot chicks is a good business strategy though. Oh well, there is always Hooters Air.

12. Yes. Flip flops and a wife beater for the guys
At least that's what I usually see.

I'm guessing she was missing her panties and someone freaked because he clothing appears pretty normal to me.

5. She was "interviewed" on Today this morning. .
"Keith" (the name of the SW Airlines flight attendant) wasn't.

I suspect he was responding to a complaint by some other passenger. A fundie of some sort, no doubt.. either a prudish woman, or a man who didn't think he should be reminded that he should control his "urges". .

without revealing herself. (hint: it's not the top that is the problem...)

14. It is the problem of the people who stare
at others' bodies, trying to imagine what lies below.

19. This reminds me of that prom story...
Some jackass administrator cancelled a prom and sent all the girls home because of the "lewd" dresses they were wearing.

The dresses were perfectly fine.
