WHITE CLOUD -- The description of the bank robber was vivid -- a man wearing a red and white bandana, large sunglasses and a gold hoop earring in his left ear as he held a sign indicating he had a bomb.
But it was all a lie, police say.
A bank teller, 42-year-old Penny Sue Cook, of White Cloud, made up the story about the drive-up robber to steal bank money, police say.

FBI officials, who helped Newaygo County sheriff's detectives investigate the robbery, said Cook also could face federal charges because the bank, Independent Bank at 1075 E. Wilcox Ave. in White Cloud, is federally insured.
