They should be rounded up and shot
This particular phrase is really starting to bother me. I hear it all the time especially when people protest the war. I've heard it applied to democrats who are critical of the president, I've heard conservatives say it about welfare recipients. In fact I've heard it said about anyone who frightens or angers these people.

If you look at the history of massacres by armies, police, mercenaries or anyone in power you will find that most of them are directed at powerless people trying to gain or protect their freedom from oppression.

Do these people really want a country where political action by the people is put down by gunfire?

You can also carry this reasoning further to countries themselves. These people who say "they should be shot" are the same who say "we should bomb them back to the stone age". Will the deaths of millions really make them feel better? I don't think so, once the mass killing starts there will be no one to say "that's enough." There are always threats, real or imagined, and simply dropping bombs on brown people will not make the fear and anger go away.

So next time you hear this hateful phrase ask these people if they really want to see the piles of bodies, people killed by our government for the crime of standing up for a better, more peaceful way of life.

8. when I first joined and pointed outn that Joe Biden....
single handedly supported legislation that enabled the Bush junta to pass the Patriot Act, I was attacked and ridiculed by DUERS who didn`t bother to read or comprehend what this opportunist would do and say just for improved popularity ratings The legislation he introduced was co-sponsored by Lieberman, Strom Thurmand and Orrin Hatch.

Then again, the Biden apologists on this board are as bad as the Pelosi enablers.

Anyone who supports Biden should just call themselves a fascist IMHO...

Peace

11. Pelosi enablers?? On DU?
Impocerous!!

I think it's a little over-the-top to claim anybody is "single handedly" ruining the world. Even Cheney needs Rove, Bush, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Condi, Perle, Powell, and the Republican Congress and noise machine. Not to mention Democrats unable to even spell fillibuster.

3. Same thing as "Make the middle east a parking lot".
I have heard this many times. Kill tens of millions to take care of a few hundred thousand radical jihadists.

7. I hate to admit it, but I said that about Republicans within the past
hour...I meant it figuratively, I really think they should be boiled in oil or drawn and quartered.

On second thought, that would be cruel, just stake them out on anthills and let them fend for themselves...

10. If I had my way, I'd have all of THEM
shot!

Thankfully, I have not heard that phrase. I am not sure where you are that you hear it all the time :scared: I think it is, however, a natural human tendency to blame everything on some nebulous "other" and to think, if only the other could be defined and eliminated that all would be well with the world. Our own 'other' is also dehumanized as a moran, a FReeper, a talibornigain, a reich-winger, a troll, a bigot, etc. Nobody talks about shooting them, but like the more public hatred of Coulter, Hannity and Limbaugh, it's more about marginalizing them, mocking them, and not treating them with any normal human decency.

16. You have a better chance of getting stuck by lightning twice on the same day...
then anyone in the US makes good on those threats. People who say that never seem to go through with it. They're cowards.

18. If you ask them, they'll just keep spouting the same garbage.
They may not even realize how little stomach they have for the real thing. So, to help them out, hand them some enlistment papers. What better place to prove they mean it than their war?
