democraticunderground.com gives me ANOTHER page - someone else?
This is really peculiar, has been the case since a couple of months :
When I start typing demo etc in my IE browser address bar, it logically shows
http://www.democraticunderground.com

When I hit enter, instead of DU's homepage, a totally different pseudo-political page shows up.

If I do the same, but pick the also listed link to the greatest threads, I get where I want to be.

It only seems that the basic link somehow is redirected.
If I click on the DU logo on here, it DOES take me to the DU front page.

Am I alone in this, any clues what's happening?

Thanks in advance
bmc

1. Are you absolutely sure what pops up in your browser bar is spelled correctly?
Because slight misspellings like "demoraticunderground" and whatnot often lead to pages like that.

2. Something similar happened to me....
...but I looked closely and had accidentally misspelled it "democraticundergound" one time and that's what the auto complete was giving me.

4. Thank you and I confess, my bad!
Instead of typing up my post, I should have slowly typed it in the address bar.
I HAD spelled it undergound without the r and somehow managed to not see that every time I used the autocomplete.

Some day, I'll learn to see and type...

5. That happens to me on my computer
It also does it for other websites that I type in the address, such as ask.com. It doesn't happen when I'm on my son's computer, so I assume that it is some type of bug or mal-ware on my computer.

7. What happened to me is it took me to another site once and
it was caused by adware. All the rest of the sites were ok just the first one, which was du.
