6. I thought the cop that arrested him said the Guilty plea was a DONE DEAL?
He also said Craig would face worse charges if the plea is overturned because they lessened the charge for a Guilty Plea? I wonder what will happen now??? I NEVER thought a judge would hear this case.

10. Anybody can make a motion to withdraw a guilty plea.
All that's happened is that the judge is allowing him to make the argument that he should be allowed to do so. It doesn't mean the judge will grant the motion -- Craig will have to prove something like manifest injustice in order to do it. In any event, the result would be a trial, not that he walks away. The charges would not be dropped just because hhe is allowed to plead not guilty.

4. I hope it encourges him to stay in the Senate until we challenge,
and beat, his sorry ass in the next election. If he resigns, then we get another Republican, appointed by a Repub governor. Let the guy twist slowly, slowly in the wind...

7. Usually what happens when someone is allowed to withdraw a guilty plea
is that they get a trial. They don't get to just walk away. If Craig gets to change his plea to not guilty, the prosecutor will reinstate the original charges, and Craig won't be able to make the thing go away until he either pleads guilty (again) to something, or goes to trial.

Larry Craig is the gift that keeps on giving.

11. I think it is
on the 24th, which would be on a Monday. Craig has said he intends to resign if he doesn't have his guilty plea vacated by the 30th. It's possible the judge will rule quickly on this, because the arguments from both sides should be relatively brief. I think that there is a chance he will get a new trial, but a much better chance that he will not.

12. Policeman's written report
has more information in it. And it shows, if I read it correctly, that Craig went back a week later to talk to "a real person" at the window, and apparently he talked with the cop.

13. here's my thought
the cop that booked him has all the power.

that cop will be even more pissed that Craig is using his clout to avoid responsibility for an obvious solicitation.

I suspect he gets charged with lying to court, obstruction, and the original charge, max penalty, the man ends up doing jailtime.

it's time he suffers for his really big ego and abuse of power.

14. I'm hoping he's laughed out of court, and for good measure, they pull back that
"interfering with privacy" charge they agreed to drop in exchange for the guilty plea.
