Both Leahy and Sanders Against Funding the War
Just heard them on VPR. Petraeus really pissed them off. The gist of what they said:

Leahy:

"I think the pres knows there's no way to win, and he'd like to dump it in the lap of the next president.

It's almost obscene for the pres to ask for a blank check knowing he has to go to china to get the money and cutting childrens's healthcare and other vital services.

Sanders:

Ongoing effort to mislead America about the war. They mislead us about everything;

This. President. Has. No. Exit. Plan. At. All.

Defunding the war is one step towards ending this war.

Leahy has spoken before about defunding the war. This is the first time I've heard Bernie on it.

1. Finally - Some Adult Supervision
It's good to know that some Democrats (and an independent) are actually doing the right thing.

It amazes me that our party - and even its frontrunners for president - consist primarily of dissemblers, wafflers, triangulators, and Republicans. Perhaps it's time for the "elder statesman", e.g., the guys who have experience back to the days when Liberal was not a dirty word, to take control of the party once again.
