"Al-Qaida is in America and they are our government." - A surprising "Sound Off" in my local paper.
Keep in mind this is in Chester County, Pennsylvania, a Republican stronghold. The mix of conservative and liberal concerns in this one is surprising:

“Political correctness, the failures of NAFTA, WTO, United Nations, mismanagement of the war and recovery efforts for Katrina victims, failure to guard our borders and protect our citizens, activist judges, allowing dangerous and tainted goods to enter our country, trucks from Mexico are allowed to pour onto our highways basically unchecked. Al-Qaida is in America and they are our government. The only difference between the extremists and our government is the method they are using to destroy us.”

3. Hmmm....
Reads more like a thinly-veiled RW rant against the not-warmongering-enough UN, "activist judges" and them durn Meskins to me.

"Mismanagement" of the illegal, immoral, unwinnable war. Yeah, that's the problem.

4. Billings, MT not a hotbed of liberal thought either, but...
"Letter: Let's throw support to impeaching Bush

As 70 percent of Americans are against the illegal war in Iraq; as tax break after tax break is handed out to American corporations; as America' infrastructure, medical system and educational systems are being ignored; as America just gave Israel $30 billion to fight more illegal wars; as criminal after criminal leaves the Bush administration, nothing is done to impeach both Bush and Cheney.

What are Max Baucus and Jon Tester doing about it? Tell us Montanans why Baucus and Tester are not supporting bills to impeach Cheney and Bush."

Somebody is for applying heat to our DEM Senators re impeachment. Now, if we could just convince the school boards around here that Civics classes might be a good idea, maybe people would start applying heat to our one Congressman, Denny Rehberg (R) to do something to impeach bush/cheney.

Some interesting comments to the LTTE too. The conservatives in Billings area are restless. The koolaid drinkers are fewer, more desperate, and damned sad.

5. What an interesting mix of issue stances.
Though I'm having a hard time disagreeing with the last sentence.

6. I don't see much in there that's liberal. The Katrina victims thing, maybe.
Political correctness as the leadoff example of extremism? I think the writer is probably a Rush Limbaugh listener. The way the conservatives are explaining the debacle in Iraq is by saying the war was mismanaged. My sister lives in Chester County, and she's Rush's number one fan. LOL! Maybe it's her. The letter has her way of garbling things.

7. It is evidence that the calls for impeachment are not just coming from us 'damn libruls'
And I do think most of us are worried about the dangerous foods and such coming into the US ;)

The letter illustrates that AMERICANS have had enough of the traitors in high places. The neocons will be beaten down in their anti-liberal talking points by people who are center and even right of center.

AMERICANS have had enough. That is the message AMERICANS need to make sure the folks on the Hill are getting.

8. Americans
I like the way you put that.
Divide and conquer is losing its effectiveness and people are starting to come together.
I think that is a good thing.

9. We The People have to take the tool of divisiveness out of the neocon's hands
America is in too much danger from neocons' bad policy to let them use tricks to keep getting away with their anti-American agenda.

Find as much common ground with people in other political camps and work to show them how much more alike we all are in our concerns and our hopes for America. Make allies and make progress.

10. One nation indivisible
I always liked saying it that way.
Funny how they used god to divide us. Not.
