Who is freedomswatch.org ?
I keep seeing TV commercials featuring disabled vets stating how angry the idea of leaving Iraq makes them.

From their about page:
Freedom’s Watch is organized as a nonprofit corporation and operated in a manner consistent with section 501 (c) (4) of the federal income tax laws. Freedom’s Watch is dedicated to educating individuals about and advancing public policies that protect America’s interests at home and abroad, foster economic prosperity, and strengthen families. Through outreach and education, communications to key members of Congress, and bold public awareness initiatives, Freedom’s Watch is fighting for the ideals and policies that keep America strong and prosperous. We welcome all those who share our values to join our efforts.

One of the PDFs linked identifies the president as Bradley A. Blakeman, and lists 'supporters' as:

Supporters of Freedom’s Watch include Former U.S. Ambassador Anthony
Gioia, Former U.S. Ambassador Kevin Moley, Former U.S. Ambassador Mel Sembler
and Former U.S. Ambassador Howard Leach; Dr. John Templeton, Edward Snider,
Sheldon Adelson, Richard Fox, Ari Fleischer, Gary Erlbaum, and Matt Brooks.

I want to know where they are getting their money.

My wife had on the Today Show...with Laura Ingram talking about how "sick" Hollywood is...but I digress and their commercials come on. First a woman who lost her hubby in 9-11 and her son in Iraq. In order to "honor" them we must have "victory." So other folks have to die so your son's death wasn't "in vain" to our "noble cause"? I hope they paid her well. She'll need it...

The second was a wounded soldier with glasses touting "only victory." Sad. If he truly beleives this and is not getting paid buttloads to it would destroy him to accept the truth.

The sick thing is that victory is unobtainable in this situation.

I want to know who is funding them as well. I smell Military Industrial Complex...or at least Neocon asshats...same smell.

3. They are throwing a lot of it around!
Many channels, I don't know if they are national or local spots, but I've seen them on NBC, ABC and other cable channels.

I want to know if there are tax dollars in the kitty.

2. SourceWatch says they're a WH front group. I looked them up this a.m.
because any group with "freedom" or "America" prominently in its name sort of trips my alarms any more.

6. I don't think we can scrutinize these groups enough.
Really, I don't. They are a window into the way the Thuggery organizes the propaganda. Time well spent.

4. There is an artical in the Washington Post today about this..
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/11/AR2007091102316.html?hpid=topnews

The television commercial is grim and gripping: A soldier who lost both legs in an explosion near Fallujah explains why he thinks U.S. forces need to stay in Iraq.

"They attacked us," he says as the screen turns to an image of the second hijacked airplane heading toward the smoking World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. "And they will again. They won't stop in Iraq."

Every investigation has shown that Iraq did not, in fact, have anything to do with the Sept. 11 attacks. But the ad, part of a new $15 million media blitz launched by an advocacy group allied with the White House, may be the most overt attempt during the current debate in Congress over the war to link the attacks with Iraq.

Six years later, the Sept. 11 attacks remain the touchstone of American politics, the most powerful force that can be summoned on behalf of an argument even as a nation united in their aftermath today stands divided on their meaning. While Washington spent yesterday's anniversary debating the U.S. involvement in Iraq, it struggled to define the relationship between the war there and the worldwide battle with al-Qaeda and other extremists.
