There's a lot wrong with THIS picture.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe abruptly announced his resignation on Wednesday after a year in power dogged by scandals, an election rout and a crisis over Japan's support for U.S.-led operations in Afghanistan.

No, that's OK. It's this:

LDP Secretary-General Taro Aso, a close Abe ally who shares most of his hawkish views on security policy, is seen as frontrunner to become the new prime minister.

So, let me get this straight. Abe is resigning, in large part, because of his support for U.S. led operations in Afghanistan, but the front runner shares most of his hawkish views. Huh? Exactly when do We the People, whether American or Japanese, get to have our wishes acknowledged and represented by our ELECTED officials?

Notice how "wingers" of every stripe are winning elections around the globe... at least in the "have" nations, and some important "have not" nations...

France, Poland, Mexico are the most recent. Japan and Australia to follow?

I definitely don't know much about Japanese politics, but that doesn't sound like a conservative party.
