Boehner: Troop deaths in Iraq are ‘a small price.’In an interview on CNN today, Wolf Blitzer asked House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) about “the Americans who are killed every month” in Iraq and “how much longer” the “military commitment is going to require?” “The investment that we’re making today will be a small price if we’re able to stop al Qaeda here,” replied Boehner. As Atrios notes, the “small price” Boehner refers to is “3774 dead US troops and counting.” Watch it:

4. Tell that to the wives, husbands, children
parents and friends that are left to mourn and somehow put their price to pay.

At least have the decency to call the unwarranted loss of soldiers' lives "a great sacrifice."

6. Al Qaeda is NOT in Iraq!! Why does the "liberal media" allow that lie to perpetuate?!?!
bin Laden and his Al Qaeda organization are in Afghanistan/Pakistan.

What's in Iraq is a similar group of cells but it's not the same.

The foreign fighters in Iraq are there because it's convenient to attack US forces there (much like they attacked the Soviets in Afghanistan).

One of these days someone in the media will actually report on the "far enemy" vs. the "near enemy"

7. That all depends on when you're standing, Bonehead.

Go stand near Kabul for a few months and, if you survive, tell us what a small price it is for our soldiers and Marines to be there.

13. Death is like fertilizer to al Qaeda.
These are the people who flew airplanes into our World Trade Center.

Death is NOT a deterrant. It's a stimulus, like vitamins.

What on Earth are Boehner and his people thinking????? Do they intend to go everywhere all over the world and kill every last single al Qaeda and all of their families?

Someone be a real "devil's advocate" for me and tell me HOW this is supposed to work. I simply cannot figure it out.

14. why can't these STUPID FUCKS get it through their heads
that we are not "stopping Al Qaeda" by spinning our wheels in Iraq?

Have they not two brain cells to rub together?

Whatever Saudi jihadists have entered Iraq to make mischief are not the Al Qaeda threat to our "homeland." They are soldiers of fortune who moved into the power vacuum we created.

The Iraqis hated Al Qaeda before we got there, and they'll hate them after we leave. For a time the disenfranchised Sunnis in Al Anbar accommodated them, because we had so screwed the Sunnis over. But they got fed up with them and their fundamentalist religious crap.

We are NOT fighting the core power center of anything that could remotely be called an Al Qaeda organization. We are not going to march on their capital and strike their flag. We are just going to beat our heads against the wall in a war of attrition and eventually leave.

Whatever Al Qaeda center of operations exists, it is in Pakistan/Afghanistan. More likely there no longer is a center. Just lots of really pissed off islamists scattered around the globe, trying to think up something really big.

And yet... and yet, our moron don Quixote president continues to think he will save the world by somehow finding the nest of vipers and stomping them. Then he can beat his chest and be acclaimed as grand vizier of the planet or something. And these shambling zombies like boner are hoping to ride his coattails. So they recite the mantra. I bet they still believe in the tooth fairy. They certainly don't have any critical thinking skills.

And then they have the audacity to say "small price" - "only a comma"

I never imagined I could hate anyone as much as I hate this entire crowd.

Ask their families if its a "small price":
