I see Rick Perry has declared three counties as disaster areas and is planning to cash in. I've seen downed trees and power lines but not much else.

1. Sort of
I understand that at least 100,000 people will be without electricity for a while in the Beaumont area.

Damage isn't serious, though, from what I know of now.

2. Maybe it's about getting the National Guard to cut the trees
but with Rick that's doubtful. Thanks

3. Houston news reported a few roofs torn off over in Beaumont.
Power grid repairs and repairing the minor damage will cost something. It lets those that have damage file claims.

gas prices are going up because some tool announced that this hurricane effected oil refinery protection.

Yeah, I thought so too.

so expect oil price increases

6. I also heard that some guy got the flu, so therefore prices are going up
for that reason as well. LOL

Kind of scary when you think about it, an almost hurricane hits, more like a tropical storm and it effects the system just enough that it causes wide spread disruption in the gas supply.

No peak oil here, no short gas supplies here.

I'll just keep whistling pass the grave yard as they want us too. LOL
