The local paper just called me to comment after *'s speech...

tonight. I said "I don't think you want to hear what I will have to say, and how did you get my name?". She said she knew I was a peace activist and found me as the local Codepink contact. You also have to know that this paper is owned by Richard Scaife (he owns every paper in our area, but the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). I want to slam his ass in the best way possible. We already know what the moron is going to say, so could I have some input, please? Thanks in advance.

IMO we should never have started an illegal occupation to begin with, based on faulty intelligence they knew was faulty prior to going in anyway.

my biggest problem is that my husband is a local school superintendent. He supports me in everything I say and do, but I have to word things carefully so I don't hurt him. That's why I have to go into "the city" for demonstrations, etc. I have had several LTTE published in the Post-Gazette, and my car is covered in peace bumper stickers, so everyone around here already knows where I stand.

of this administration. There's just too much to sat except that itself. When something (like the illegal immoral invasion of Iraq) is wrong, staying longer doesn't make it better. bush should apologise to the whole world and go to Paraguay and disappear.

The net result is that the number of terrorists have increased since 2001.

No one can answer whether Iraq will aid US security in the future.
Because Iraq is not the single front on terrorism.
Terrorism is everywhere in the world.

A 1/2 trillion dollars would have been better spent on improving US security at home.
Inspect all cargo
Assure food supply (especially from abroad) is not contaminated with deadly ingredients.
Improve infrastructure including levees so that no only can no terrorist but also no storm can drown another US city.

The argument is that we need to spend our efforts and dollars wisely.
Iraq is a foolhardy waste of lives and money.

Some thoughts - that should not offend anyone.

Bush said that we would be bringing democracy to Iraq.
The now "democratic" Iraqis overwhelmingly want us out of Iraq.
Why don't we honor their democratic wishes, and leave?
As for peace, our presence has brought the opposite.

I can guarantee that this will not be addressed by Bush.

They have several reporters that are notorious for misquoting people. Ask them to read back your quote to make sure they get it right.

Iraq is just the first stage in their desire to dominate the world militarily. Urge them to find a copy of that paper and read it carefully. He wants to stay there because he hasn't given up on his Napoleonic dreams.
