I didn't watch *'s speech because I know he doesn't intend to leave the ME ever, or at least not until the oil runs out. And his job now is to get us "comfortable" with staying there. Whatever. My question is, if we knew for a fact there were only 3 years of oil left for the planet to share, and after that it would be doomsday, what is the U.S. going to do? What if our politicians had the option to take control of the oil supply, allocating most of it to us so that we could live comfortably for 10-20 more years? It's easy to give the macho "bring it on" response, or the passive "it's stealing what isn't ours" response. But what about the majority of the country who do not own a plot of land, those who can't afford to sustain themselves in such a crisis. Really, if that happened, maybe sooner than we think, what would you expect our government to do?
And it will happen soon, that's what this is all about. I might be loony, but I think this was all planned 50 years ago, and that within the next 50 years oil will be an unimportant resource, but that the plan is to stretch it another 50 years by taking control of it until we have fully developed the technology to free ourselves from it.
If we deviate from that plan, I swear there will be another event like 9/11 or worse, that forces us back to the ME, just like Cheney threatened to let happen to us. We really all have to be good hard working citizens, close our eyes to it, and bear with their evil agenda.
Sorry, someone had to say it. It's implied all the time but seldom acknowledged directly. I'm getting tired of the dishonesty on the part of all politicians. They only care about the selfish, and those who aren't selfish don't matter to them.
