I understand - rarely - sometimes you have to go to war. Sometimes there is no choice.

Maybe we had no choice 9/2001. And honestly - I still do think there is a price that has to be paid for what they did in NYC - I really do. I want it paid. And we have one enemy - we can't lose sight of this.

And not against a state - against an idea - these tactics are wrong in Iraq - they just are.

It is fundamentally stupid to try and take a nebulous organization out from the top down.

You know how to knock a house down, you start from the foundation up. We do that and they will fold - and I am directly talking only of the foreign fighters. If they want to kill themselves in a civil war in that country - it is their right. And we get no say.

Go after the footsoldiers - you want effect - put a bounty on their head - and make sure the population knows it is there. Create a situation where Muslims do this, not us.

You know we have done similar before. Maybe it is not moral - war is not moral.

I want our kids out of there - this was never our fight.

Joe

1. I am in sympathy with your comments. I agree that when attacked
we must respond. However, I am very opposed to our self-assumed role as policeman of the world. It hasn't been a great record:
Korean war = stalemate
Viet Nam war = debacle
Iraq war = debacle.

2. We are not police to anything -
We are the exception to a rule that guided generations.

And we better remember that. We were a guiding light - and we better go back to that.
