US will not attack Iran; Israel will. And maybe very soon.

(Corrected spelling of "Israel" to satisfy the simplistic. . . . By the way, I'm guessing I've written a few more books that those who object to such errors, insisting that they are indicative of the person's quality of thought.)

I'm guessing it will be limited to air strikes based on detailed
intelligence information.

I'm not condemning Israel, nor supporting their attack.

Just analyzing the situation. Esp. now that Russia has
warned the US to stay out.

Did US provide significant conditions (intelligence, encouragement,

They may start it in that direction. I'm convinced that Israel's little adventure with Lebanon last summer was deliberately staged to instigate Syria.

You don't even know how to spell Israel, and you're making prognostications about the ME? Wow.

Any attack on Iran will have to pretty much wipe out Iran's complete military capability, or what is left of their military will come into Iraq. That's why we really need to stop the US from attacking iran. Any attack will be absolutely devastating.

I hope not.

And, the US has a bad record of standing behind their aggression.

Israel will have to violate someone else's airspace to reach Iran,or arrangements have already been made, and my guess would be Saudi Arabia, and over Iraqi airspace which is currently controlled by the US.

By allowing the Israelis to fly over Iraqi airspace, the US will openly be showing its intentions, which will cause the Iranians to launch attacks on US military personnel in Iraq, and pre-selected targets in Israel.

This will then give Bush what he needs to launch tactical nuclear strikes on specific targets in Iran! The downside is that thousands of US troops will be dead, along with thousands of Israelis, but when has this administration ever cared about anyone else?

If your analysis on this point is correct, then the US will have to be more adament that Iran not have nuclear weapons than worry about the (short term?) conflagration.

But are you sure of step two . . . that Iran will attack US troops? They will be aware of a very clear downside. But they might also believe such a fight might bring success in that many nations in the ME would join them? And that might lead to our withdrawal from the region. (I think they'd be wrong, but . . .)
