How Senate Voted on Detainee Rights
Edited on Wed Sep-19-07 06:34 PM by cal04
The 56-43 roll call by which the Senate refused to consider an amendment to give military detainees the right to protest their detention in federal court.

On this vote, a "yes" vote was a vote in favor of an amendment and a "no" vote was a vote against it. Supporters fell four votes shy of the 60 they needed to bring the amendment up as part of a defense bill.

Voting "yes" were 49 Democrats, 6 Republicans and 1 independent.
Voting "no" were 0 Democrats, 42 Republicans and 1 independent. (we all know who that one is)
(snip)
Republicans Yes

Hagel, Neb.; Lugar, Ind.; Smith, Ore.; Snowe, Maine; Specter, Pa.; Sununu, N.H.

1. Brownback (R-KS) voted "no"--this clown only shows up 2/3 of the time for votes...
Brownback still No. 3 for missing votes

Kansas’ Sen. Sam Brownback missed 11 of 12 Senate roll call votes last week, maintaining his status as No. 3 among Senate vote missers (better than only South Dakota’s ailing Tim Johnson and fellow campaigner John McCain of Arizona). As of Friday, Brownback had missed 115 of 284 roll call votes this year, or 40 percent.

Yet, he shows up to vote "no" on detainee rights. Looks like he's still willing to show up for work if it means perpetuating the neo-cons' wet-dreams...

Hey, Sam! Wanna give back 1/3 of your paycheck?
