Dems Caved to Fear: IWR, and Now the MoveOn Debacle
I think it's abundantly clear by now that the Dems in Congress who voted in favor of giving King George carte blanche in his effort to invade Iraq were doing so out of fear of being painted ANTI-AMERICAN in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

Ditto the MoveOn vote this past week. Afraid of their own shadows in the lead-up to an election year, 25 Dems caved to political expediency and the fear of being painted ANTI-TROOP.

It makes me sick to consider that these DEMOCRATS put re-election hopes in front of PRINCIPLES when making their vote for a bill.

Character and political ideology are the two characteristics I look for in a candidate. Just having a -D behind your name does not make you an attractive candidate. Bringing the values of your constituency to Washington is what makes or breaks you.

And the ridiculous side note to all of this is: the Dems were STILL pummeled by the Repukes after their pro-IWR vote...as ANTI-AMERICAN.

You think the Dems won friends from the other aisle with their MoveOn vote? HA!

1. George Bush is ANTI-AMERICAN. The Democrats need to define terms
in their own words and need to STOP accepting definitions written by Repugs.

When they bend on their knees to Repugs, Democrats look weak and lacking ideas or a plan. How many times have you heard Repugs beat them over the head with those very words?

They need to keep the focus on * and all the wrong he has done. They need to refuse to be sidetracked by stupidity like the MoveOn vote.

2. Yup. Any time republicans tut-tut, there's always a jillion Democrats - at all levels...
... right there waiting to start hand-wringing.
