Sometimes there are just no words to describe the inhumane way PEOPLE are treated
The birth of a child is something that should be celebrated and revered.
For a patient that I had recently, it marked a sad and somber event.
While his wife was in labor, he was rounded up at work in an immigration bust.
While his wife was bringing new life in the world, he was shackled to a life that he had tried to leave behind.
They both worked. They were both hardworking people. Not really bothering anyone.
They were paying their way in this country and now, she is left to fend for herself and her newborn and her other small children.
It breaks my heart that there are people everywhere--here included--that will attempt to justify this.
There are no words. We really need to look in the mirror and see what we have become.:(

1. Sometimes I wonder whether..
.. humanity is going extinct because of our
inhumanity towards each other.

3. The other day on one of the talking head shows
one of the commentators said that for the repukes, the Iraq war will be less of an issue in 08 than immigration. Immigrant bashing is alive and well in the same suburbs where immigrant labor is routinely exploited. I guarantee that if you walked up to a dozen people in my local grocery store and told them the same story you've related here, your patient would get little to no sympathy.
