2. I think Bolinger knew he was safe

That Ahmadinejad would never go off on him or act wild and crazy. But I believe that there are leaders in this world who Bolinger wouldn't dare speak to in the manner he spoke today. There are leaders who might treat him like a rag doll - even if only verbally.

I had this image in my imagination of Kim Jong-il grabbing Bolinger by the hair before he finished his intro.

Hope that clears things up.

3. You have a very high opinion of Kim Jong-il's physical prowess.

I have never heard that he is very physically imposing, although you are right that he does foster that "wild and crazy" persona.
