"Hillary detractors are just parroting RW talking points."
Uh-huh. The RW tries to paint her as an ultra-liberal. Which we don't think she is. Hell, which we KNOW she isn't. Even her more ardent supporter must agree she's not "far-left." She's socially liberal and tends towards conservatism on foreign policy and free trade issues.

So, tell me, precisely, how parroting RW talking points any way addresses the issues liberals have against her--namely the very things that she agrees with the RW on in general?

Am I goofy or does this accusation make NO sense at all?

1. They may be referring to the can't win meme.
Which I totally disagree with. She can totally win.

I just don't think that would be a terribly good thing.

24. Hillary appears somewhat of a libertarian.
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 02:33 AM by liberaldemocrat7

Socially liberal but won't use government to advance health insurance for everyone, for example.

Social liberals with fiscal conservatism appears a conflict, to me.

Won't lift a finger to repeal and replace Medicare Part D leaving retired and disabled middle class medicare part D exiles who refuse to sign up for the medicare part D social security benefit cut, to pay for their own medication.

Sometimes I wish that Abe Lincoln did not fight to preserve the union but rather free the black slaves and invite every black slave and free these good people in the north.

Then we would see mostly white slavery in the south. How Amusing.

Hillary appears just another pea in the corporate shell game that appears to go on.

The corporations now are shifting the shells or the shills, hehe and no matter which pea gets elected, it will appear beholden to them.

My solution: take the fight to the largest corporations and mass boycott them and make legislative demands of them because we the people ultimately give corporations power with our purchases, which they in turn use this money against us.

She is going to WIN...... I know this from deep within my intuitive heart. I have seen her POWER when she was in Ohio last May, I saw up front and personal the network web she has weaved....Power is an understatement.

She has organized this campaign as good as the young Roman boy, Octavian/Augustus Ceasar did against Pompi and Mark Anthony after the murder of Julius Ceasar.

65. I would venture that all of the candidates emit their own personal power --
or magnetism. They are strong, dedicated, focused individuals, and that's got to come across when one is with them 'up close and personal'.

So I don't dispute that Hillary has power, I just don't think she has the patent on it.

Maybe you're confusing power with money.

18. Illogic...
Hillary supporters seem to equate all criticism of Hillary with the right wing.

It is sorta like: A. Right wingers criticise Hillary. B. Left wingers criticise Hillary. Therefore, left wingers are right wingers.

Somewhere, there is a logical fallacy I believe.

Right wingers don't like Hillary. However, it does not follow that left wingers who don't like Hillary, or even moderate-wingers who don't think she can win....are parroting right wing talking points. I know this is what some Hillaristas want us to believe.

The fact remains the main stream corporate media has annointed her the front runner even before 04 was over. She has been annointed the inevitable front runner ever since, by the right wing. The HOPE she is the candidate, since she is the one who can unite their party in a common crusade and put fire in their bellies.

The right wing talking point is that Hillary is going to be the nominee. And they are already dusting off their testosterone as to who can best beat her, now that she has been apparently installed as the nominee.

Sean Hannity and Tweety have been singing her praises as a candidate for years. Does that give no one else pause?

Hillary is destined to become the Democratic candidate for President in 2008, just as she is destined to mobilize the right and many on the left against her.

We are being led down a garden path here. I don't know why this isn't obvious to more people.

28. The problem with Hillary
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 06:14 AM by PDenton
is that she may be too socially liberal and fiscally conservative to win. Alot of independent and Republican voters now days tend towards being more open towards government involvement in the economy than what Hillary proposes. With some conservatives it really is about the three G's, and they are all social issues. Her image on the right is of an ivory tower elite preaching down their values, not their beliefs about the economy. She had the "nerve" after all to write a book telling them how children should be raised, after all. Plus she's tainted by the Clinton name and all the ill-will a Republican dominated media and Congress could drum up for 8 years.

Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 06:46 AM by Perry Logan
Clinton was tied with FDR as most popular President of the 20th century. His administration was the cleanest administration since Teddy Roosevelt.

So, in saying Hillary is "tainted," you are proving the OP wrong by repeating RW talking points. This strange behavior makes Hillary haters stand out like sore thumbs at DU.

79. Yeah, Gawd forbid I should draw my own conclusions
based on what I see rather than taking them directly from someone else...like you, maybe?

48. Absolutely...
That's why I married a strong woman and have ALWAYS preferred strong women. Because I'm afraid of them.

It explains so much.

61. Now they're disputing the "handling" of the war...
Not necessarily the war itself.

69. The goal is not to make sense, it's to suppress debate
I've become convinced that the "RIGHT! WING! TALKING! POINT!" faux outrage is the DU equivalent of a freeper's "B-b-but CLINTON!!!" It's like throwing the gun at someone once you've run out of bullets.

82. And, trust me, you ain't seen nothing yet
Should she (dog forbid) win the nomination, you will see the hammer truly fall. Should that actually happen, I plan to get through the general election with my own personal drinking game: I'll do a shot every time a Hillarista posts the DU rules about criticizing the nominee.

84. eyah, it really chafed them when Lieberman flipped off the democratic party
and they werent' allowed to champion him anymore.

Exactly the same people that tried to cram Lieberman down our throats.

78. My opposition to her is entirely based on left-wing principles
I think the right-wing talking points against her are silly, especially since she's so good at doing the bidding of the military-industrial complex.
