1. Hutchison declaring that our invading Iraq has ensured it is not a terrorist
breeding ground???Has she not been paying attention to the growing number of terroristic activity that has occurred since we invaded Iraq.

I cannot believe they say these things with a straight face.

20. She's a trained Republican parrot
If she dares to have an idea of her own, other than what's officially endorsed by the GOP, she suppresses it quickly.

She knows what she's supposed to say, and can do so without concern for her position as a U.S. Senator from Texas. Such is the life of a Republican politician in a strongly red state. :puke:

4. Thanks, Dick Durbin, for speaking out against the LIEberman amendment!
Did you see how LIEberman walked in front of Durbin as he was speaking out against the amendment? I think LIEberman is picking up W's arrogant tricks. He makes me sick!

10. I missed that, I must have been looking down at Du, its hard to do both but omg we should all
be watching this right now, I think it's fairly obvious that war with Iran is imminent and they are pushing the idea regardless of whether it is the right thing to do, now I am more panicked than I was earlier, it would explain the pushing of evil Iran all day today.

12. Hutchinson claiming that we are protecting future generations of Americans
by staying in Iraq until we make them a democracy, she is saying the answer is a long term solution, allowing the Iraqies run their own country?

How many American lives will be lost between now and the end, lets allow our American troops to take a support role, she calls it a terrorist haven.

Urging them to suppor the Biden amendment, but earlier they were speaking of war with iran.

MANY THANKS TO DUer: Think82 posted: Sat Sep-22-07 09:43 PM
Here's the debate on it from Friday:
http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/index.php?main_pa ...

Begin about 1hr 45min into the session.

Word is that there's probably a LOT of cooperation already in pocket on this one and they'll be voting on it on Tuesday.

What a pleasure to hear a real statesman for a change!

You're winning me over, Joe. And especially with your push for public financing of elections.

Good job.

22. For months they have talked about getting an adequate diplomacy going
it is what Sen Biden is trying to get out there, it respects the Iraqis and shows that the iraq nation does not at present have the ability to basicaly get all back in order.

But what I see is that this is our fault in the way we have handled this invasion from day one.

He believes we need a firm dead line for getting things done and allowing the Iraqis to run their own country.

he supports this amendment and congratulates Biden for all the work he has done on it.

23. Sen John warner thanks Kerry for his input and will not guess on the outcome
They will not seek to do the amendments .

biden speaking of his changes.

Before the sen from mass leaves the floor he just wants to say it will not in any way cause him difficulty,

He is grateful for Kerry joining in this amendment, he says it is a big deal, this is one of the most critical issues facing foriegn policy today.

He says we cannot do it on our own, the answer cannot be made in American any longer,

25. Some of what he is proposing from his site.
The creation of modern India and Pakistan entailed the uprooting of more than 12 million people. Bangladesh was itself ripped from Pakistan. The creation of Republika Srpska, an entity you probably never heard of, was a consequence of the fragmentation of Yugoslavia, which never existed before the 20th century and did not make it into the 21st. Countries come and countries go.

It is time - isn’t it? - that Iraq went.

The way it should go was long ago devised by Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Leslie Gelb, president emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations, advocating breaking Iraq into a federation consisting of three parts: a Kurdish north, a Sunni center and a Shiite south.

Since the Biden-Gelb Plan was promulgated four years ago, Iraqis of one sort or another are drawing into themselves, circling the proverbial wagons so that they remain safely with their own kind and creating somewhat autonomous regions.

It would make sense for the United States to endorse reality and support a partition of Iraq. It would make sense, also, for the Democratic presidential hopefuls to do the same.

Any policy that does not, in the name of neoconservative romanticism or faith-based dreaming, spit into the wind of history should have American support. Enough lives have been lost already. Maybe by acknowledging the inevitable, a few can be saved

fuck him but not the horse he rode in on.
Horses are fine and wonderful animals and should be treated with respect.

It is being "revised" but hey...

I don't know why Reid (Dumbass, NV) doesn't just condemn the whole idea... but then i do know... its in his nature.

30. It is just too hard to keep up with,
We have to be clear that what biden is focusing on is what the Iraqis will be adopting or should be, this from Carl Levin.

It is the idea of federalism and attempting to put an end to the violence in Iraq.

He wants them to adopt it in their constitution,

37. They wanted to file a hate crime amendment in Iraq as well, a time line etc..
Obviously it isn't going to happen, they said perhaps tommorow but it doesn't look good.

Durbin, talking about Darfur now, a constand reminder in that many other people still live in horrific and terrifying conditions...

Talking about the Burma march as well.
