http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070926/pl_nm/iraq_usa_gates_dc;_ylt=Aj2LUX7Z97eCllO5zFZhCVh34T0D

We started this war with the help of both Democrats and republicans in Congress, a war that was known to be built on false premises

Every Congress person who votes for more funding WITHOUT adding to the funding a clause saying troops MUST be out of Iraq within 1 year or less, are enabling the murder of more Americans and Iraqiis

4. The "anti-war" Dems showed their true colors today...
Their loyalties are with lobbies that have nothing to do with the Democratic base ~ or even the American people as a whole.

How long before Bush bombs Iran now??

10. The only reason I do not think he will bomb Iran is because he doesn't have the resources
Otherwise he would

The Democrats are taking the liberal and left vote for granted, and they are probably right, at least as far as 2008 is concerned. If nothing else the Supreme Court, however, after 2008, people will demand change and accountability

20. According to Rep talking heads like Pat Buchanan...
Bush and Cheney have every intention of going into Iran in the near future ~ a bombing campaign from the air only. They already have what they need in terms of equipment and personnel ~ and looks like the Congress gave them the go-ahead today.

(Interesting that Gates asked for more money than expected.)

21. I know that is what they want to do, and in spite of the do nothing Congress
I still don't think they will do it.

The act of bombing Iran would open a third front war, cause the Shia majority, and govenment in Iraq to immediately unite with their Shia brothers in Iran, and put our troops in Iraq at even more jepardy, along with the Sunni populace in Iraq

It would be a disaster, and as much as that was their dream, I think they realize that it would even make the current situation worse

What I suspect is the plan, is for permanent occupancy in Iraq, and control of their natural resources

I also unfortunately suspect that no matter who wins in 2008, this policy will be continued

6. Enough will "support the troops" to kill and be killed.
But, of course, they will claim that they didn't "know" that it would lead to war.

12. Is there any doubt? If they'll line up to denounce their biggest donors
to defend that idiot in the White House, I'd say they've made their loyalties and intentions very clear.

13. Let's face the truth. The republicans are running the House and the Senate.
What with the House passing the condemnation of an ad by a liberal group and the Senate approving the Lieberman-Kyl amendment to support bush in his war with Iran, it is clear that the republicans are still in control of both houses of congress.

16. A lot of these Democrats are
just as much of a problem as any Republican. We should encourage more progressives to run against these assholes in the primaries like they did with Lieberman. At least we'd have a shot at putting a progressive in there that way. If we keep handing the nomination to these clowns every two or six years, nothing's ever going to change.

19. CheckList of Democratic Senators and Congressmen
Who are the Conservative Democrats on that list?
Who are the Democrats who Lean Lieberal.

A high percentage of the Conservatives can be counted on
to vote to fund the troops. WILL NOT DEFUND THE TROOPS.

Look for economic conservative Democrats.
