1. Repugs won't be happy until people are dying in the streets
I heard a caller on Washington Journal (as I briefly passed through) tell Sen. Lincoln that she "will take care of my 3 children and I wish others would take care of theirs and the government would keep its hands out of my pockets." Hope she always has that good job or that rich hubby or that inheritance. Be a shame for her to have to admit someday that we are all in this together.

It has too many assumptions. Luke that we're all on some equal playing field or that accidents don't happen.

6. that's the truth. Here's an argument I never hear: Since we as taxpayers
fund medical schools (public ones, anyway) making the cost of training to be a doctor significantly less than it would otherwise be, can't we, as taxpayers, expect decent medical care in return?

Of course, that would eliminate profits for the insurance industry, so I guess I'm just being silly.

7. right, she had no teachers, no doctors, nobody to write the
books, no police, no military, nobody to build the roads to transport food, clothing, medicine.

4. It would just take one of her 3 kids to get a life-threatening illness
to financially devastate the entire family. Unless, of course, like you said she is independently wealthy.
