GAO Report: Walter Reed Problems Have Not Been Fixed
Source: Huffington Post

"Remember Walter Reed? After the huge scandal last spring, President Bush and the members of Congress promised to improve troops' care. They promised to take action and get our wounded veterans the care they were waiting for. They promised to make things right. Well, that promise has been broken.

This week, we got definitive proof that our nation's wounded veterans are still waiting for government leaders to deliver much needed resources. According to a new report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the response to shoddy outpatient treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center has been woefully inadequate..."

I'm too damned angry right now to comment in any coherent manner. Save to say I pity the first damned VFW, American Legion, or VietNam Veteran who says one word of support for this administration! And they all better hope to their various myths & gods that my son comes back in one piece from his third, count 'em third tour in Iraq and Afghanistan!

4. Feh. They don't even make a pretense to improve the window dressing
Broken soldiers are useless to them. They're worthless and, worse, cost big bucks.

Take note of this, everyone.

It's not incompetence. It's PURE BLINDING GREED.

They couldn't care less about you and I.
If there were a sudden epidemic, they would evacuate out of the country or barricade themselves in elite encampments while the rest of us took ill and died.

They are soul-less, heartless machines whose sole purpose is the acquisition of more money.

5. That's how BushCo addresses problems that make headlines.

Mega lip service and photo ops while the problems are in the news, when they no longer get attention from the media BushCo drops the whole matter like a hot rock.

7. Ask anyone from New Orleans....
and they'll tell you the same exact thing. When the portable lights went out in Jackson Square the Bush administration wiped their hands of any responsibility for fixing the Big Easy.

PHOTO-OP ACCOMPLISHED! :grr:

10. Where are all the people who said, "See? The system worked"?
Those people (not here at DU) who said that the problems would be fixed now that it had been brought to light.

Add this to the pile of facts come election time.
