1. Why red? Oh, never mind. Googled it.

I have always understood that "red shirt fridays" is a GOP/conservative meme to support the war.

some googling answered that issue for me.

4. Got that right
We have an old harpy here in the office that goes around checking to see if people are wearing their red as she told them to do. She bypasses my office because she knows my politics and my policy of Blue Friday's (suits, ties, shirts, etc.)

9. By the oppressive, illegitimate junta in control. The legitimate government never accepted it,
neither have Burmese human-rights proponents, and neither has the United States.

7. will do. I saw a story on a dissident who is getting films out to the
world and he called his country Burma. Could be the junta renamed it, not the people.

8. I think you're right that the junta renamed it.
That's what I thought I heard Amy Goodman saying this morning on Democracy Now. Now I'm sorry I ever called it Myanmar. It will be Burma to me from now on.
